**Requisition Number:** 24543BR **Description:** Stantec is seeking to hire an INTERMEDIATE MECHANICAL ENGINEER for its offices in Peru, a professional with at least 8 years of general work experience. Some of their specific responsibilities will include: * Design and selection of mechanical equipment for mining projects. * Design of pumping systems and piping systems for tailings handling. * Design and selection of mechanical equipment for ventilation, HVAC, and hoisting systems. * Preparation of design criteria, calculation memoranda, technical specifications, data sheets, equipment lists, line and valve lists, and quantity take-offs. * Coordination with the discipline lead on project development planning, required information, deliverables, resources, among others. * Coordination with various disciplines during project development. * Leading assigned project development teams. * Reviewing, controlling, and approving deliverables prepared by engineers and drafters. **Qualifications:** The position requirements are: * Mechanical Engineering degree (licensed and registered) * Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (optional) * Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical equipment and industrial/mining plant piping system design. * Solid knowledge of mechanical and piping design standards. * Solid knowledge of mining processes and water treatment. * Solid knowledge of conveyor belt design, storage tank design, and pressure vessel design. * Solid knowledge of piping system design and pumping equipment selection. * Solid knowledge of engineering calculation software. * Solid knowledge of fabrication and welding processes for steel structures and pressure vessels. * AutoCAD Mechanical, Plant 3D, AFT Fathom and Impulse (advanced), AutoPIPE, Mathcad, and ANSYS or similar. * Advanced English proficiency **About Stantec:** The Stantec community comprises approximately 31,000 employees working across more than 450 locations on six continents.
