




Job Summary: We are seeking a cook to independently and responsibly carry out tasks related to food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, while collaborating in kitchen organization and adhering to quality standards. Responsibility for food safety and hygiene A company in the gambling and betting sector is looking to hire a cook in La Palma. ***Objective:*** To competently, independently, and responsibly perform tasks related to food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation, actively contributing to service organization, raw material and product preservation, and compliance with kitchen quality, hygiene, and efficiency standards. ***MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES*** 1. Participate in order management, receipt, storage, and control of raw materials, ensuring optimal storage and utilization. 2. Prepare, cook, and present culinary products both during continuous service and at events, according to established standards. 3. Collaborate in the setup, service, and breakdown of buffets, menus, or hot/cold line preparations. 4. Inspect the condition of kitchen equipment, utensils, appliances, and machinery, reporting any malfunctions or need for replacement. 5. Participate in menu and menu card planning, proposing improvements or suggestions based on demand or product seasonality. 6. Support cost management, inventory control, and purchasing activities, ensuring service efficiency and sustainability. 7. Monitor food product storage, hygiene, and utilization, applying good handling and storage practices. 8. Comply with current food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and occupational risk prevention requirements. Carry out any other duties inherent to the position as required by operational needs or upon instruction from the immediate supervisor. ***EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE*** - Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) or equivalent. - Food Handler Certificate (mandatory). - Knowledge of: - Basic and advanced cooking techniques. - Food preservation and temperature control. - Hygiene and sanitation regulations and HACCP. Training in Culinary Arts and Gastronomy (Vocational Training Level 2 or 3) and prior experience in commercial or institutional catering environments are desirable. ***COMPETENCIES*** Organization and cleanliness in task execution. Professional communication skills. ***OTHER REQUIREMENTS*** - Valid Food Handler Certificate. - Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required by center operations. - Prior experience in bingo halls, casinos, collective catering, or organized foodservice will be valued.
