




Job Summary: Mace is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead technical and strategic advisory services on decarbonization and sustainability for real estate portfolios and construction projects. The Responsible Business department requires a Sustainability Manager for its Madrid office, with specific experience in energy, carbon footprint calculation, and decarbonization planning within the real estate sector. This position will play a key technical leadership and strategic advisory role for clients—particularly for real estate portfolios, new-build projects, and existing buildings—supporting them in their transition toward Net Zero Carbon models, compliance with ESG and regulatory frameworks. You will be responsible for: * Developing and leading short-, medium-, and long-term decarbonization plans, including retrofit strategies, electrification, and CAPEX and OPEX optimization. * Calculating organizational and asset-level carbon footprints (Scopes 1, 2 and 3\) in accordance with ISO 14064 and GHG Protocol, including defining reduction plans and tracking targets. * Applying CRREM to assess climate transition risks, align with decarbonization pathways, and evaluate stranded asset risk. * Providing technical advisory on energy efficiency improvement. * Integrating and analyzing renewable energy solutions for buildings and real estate portfolios (photovoltaics, aerothermal, geothermal, self-consumption, PPAs, procurement of renewable electricity). * Leading and participating as technical lead in ESG Due Diligence (ESGDD), with focus on energy, emissions, and improvement opportunities. * Providing technical advisory on green financing and regulatory compliance. You will need to have: * A technical education, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering or similar, with solid knowledge of building installations and energy systems. As an energy and decarbonization expert, you bring demonstrable experience in: * Carbon footprint calculation in accordance with ISO 14064 and GHG Protocol. * Energy analysis and eco-efficiency strategies for real estate assets. * Energy simulations (DesignBuilder, HULC, IES). * Integration of renewable energy in the built environment. * Development of decarbonization plans, investment optimization, and cost-benefit analysis. * Knowledge of the energy sector, providing technical support in energy audits and participation in the development and evaluation of energy generation projects (especially applications in the real estate or industrial sectors). * Experience with or familiarity with CRREM and the EU Taxonomy. * Knowledge of sustainability certifications (LEED, BREEAM). * Experience with ESG standards and indices (GRI, EPRA, PRI, CDP, SBTi). * Knowledge of green financing, including energy savings certificates. You must speak Spanish and possess an advanced level of English, both spoken and written. European travel is required.
