Temporary / Monthly **IT Manager (Temporary Coverage)** **Overview** We are a VFX studio seeking an experienced IT Manager to cover a parental leave period. This hands-on position is critical to ensuring our production pipeline, render farm, and storage systems operate reliably and efficiently. You will manage our entire IT infrastructure—from servers and networks to security and user support—enabling our artists and team to focus on delivering top-tier projects. **Key Responsibilities** Manage and monitor firewalls, switches (L2/L3\), and network infrastructure. Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers (physical and virtual). Oversee and verify backup systems to ensure data integrity and disaster preparedness. Administer and maintain NAS and SAN storage systems (Synology, Qumulo). Provide IT maintenance, incident resolution, and hardware support. Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, policies, and security. Support and optimize the local render farm. Maintain access control systems to ensure secure operations. Serve as the first point of contact for incident resolution and user support. **Technical Skills and Knowledge** Strong proficiency in Linux (Debian, CentOS) and Windows (10, 11, Server). Advanced networking knowledge (switches, DNS, firewall rules, VLANs, routing). Experience managing firewalls (SonicWall or similar) and network switches (Netgear). Familiarity with storage systems (Synology NAS, Qumulo SAN). Proficiency in scripting/automation (Bash, Batch, PowerShell, Python). Experience in identity and access management (Active Directory). Knowledge of render farm infrastructure support. Excellent troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, and networks.
