Training budget and support for certifications **About the job** We are seeking a **senior Data & AI Architect** with a practical mindset and results orientation: someone who not only designs flawless architectures on **GCP**, but also deploys them into production, manages client relationships, and leads the technical team to successful delivery. You will work as a **technical architect and architectural reference** on high-impact projects, supporting delivery, managing client expectations, and guiding the team toward operational excellence. **Hybrid position based in Madrid with occasional travel.** **What you’ll do day-to-day** * Define and validate solution architecture: select patterns, technologies, and topologies on GCP (BigQuery, BigLake, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Vertex AI, Dataplex). Produce clear, project-applicable architectural references. * Provide technical leadership to the architecture and delivery team: supervise designs, review critical implementations, drive standards, and deliver technical mentoring for data engineers and ML engineers. * Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the client: facilitate workshops, align expectations, translate business requirements into technical decisions, and ensure deliveries deliver measurable value. * Manage project aspects and governance: collaborate with PMs on planning, risks, and mitigations; define SLAs, access policies, controls, and compliance (IAM, Workload Identity, VPC Service Controls, KMS). * Drive model and pipeline production deployment: support deployments on Vertex AI/alternatives, establish monitoring, testing, and alerting to ensure stable operations. * Contribute to pre-sales and proposals: prepare technical estimates, architectures for RFP/RFI, and participate in demos and PoCs with clients. * Promote continuous improvement and technological evolution: propose cost/performance optimizations (FinOps in BigQuery/Dataflow), and introduce reusable patterns and best practices across the practice. **Essential Requirements** * Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Data, Analytics, or AI projects, in relevant technical roles. * Demonstrable GCP experience: BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage; familiarity with Dataproc/BigLake/Datalex/Dataplex and Vertex AI. * Advanced Python and SQL; Spark experience where applicable. * Experience in data modeling, partitioning, optimization, and cost management in analytical warehouses (BigQuery). * Experience deploying solutions into production and ensuring operational stability and monitoring. * Solid knowledge of GCP security and governance (IAM, Workload Identity, VPC SC, KMS/CMEK). * Proven ability to engage with clients and participate in technical pre-sales. * Advanced Spanish and English. * University degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) or equivalent demonstrable experience. **Preferred Qualifications** * Google Cloud certifications (Professional Data Engineer, Cloud Architect, ML Engineer). * Experience with Generative AI / RAG / LLMs and semantic search architectures (vector DBs). * Experience in multi-cloud environments or migrations to GCP. * Knowledge of Data Mesh, Data Catalogs, and advanced governance practices. * Experience in cost optimization (FinOps) applied to BigQuery/Dataflow. **Soft Skills** * Demonstrable technical leadership: set standards, make decisions, and elevate team capability through active mentoring. * Client orientation: anticipate needs, negotiate solutions, and prioritize business impact. * Clear and persuasive communication: present technical options and risks focused on decision-making. * Practical project management: collaborate with PMs to plan deliveries, mitigate risks, and meet objectives. * Pragmatic and accountable mindset: choose sustainable, measurable solutions, always prioritizing operability. * Collaboration and knowledge sharing: foster team culture and reusable documentation. **What we offer** * A strategic, highly visible role within the Data & AI practice. * Challenging projects with real impact and top-tier clients. * Training budget and support for certifications. * An advanced technical environment and a strong community of practice. * Hybrid work model (Madrid office + flexibility) and occasional travel. * Competitive compensation package aligned with experience.
