Francisco built hydrogen-powered supersonic aircraft at Destinus and high-capacity eVTOLs at Volocopter, but comes from a family that manufactures and sells agricultural implements in over 25 countries. Thomas accelerated machine learning using GPUs, TPUs, and quantum computers at Google X, IBM, and BMW, and also founded Extropic in San Francisco, introducing thermodynamic computers—though his first job was on a farm.** **Together, they set out to disrupt the market by competing directly with established players and startups. Along the way, they are supported by investors including Extantia, Foodlabs, Antler, Push, and Prototype, which collectively committed a total of €9M in funding. With this, they opened their Valencia facility: a 1200 m² industrial building featuring 300 m² of naturally lit office space and 900 m² of workshop area. The team is young, highly diverse in origin, and loves hosting barbecues together—but shares a single goal: transforming European agriculture and defense with machines that do real work.** **Responsibilities** ---------- **You will build, maintain, and improve Voltrac prototypes and become part of the team that will manufacture up to 100 units per year. A varied role integrated into the existing team on-site, with the following responsibilities:** * **Fabricate, assemble, and service tractor subsystems.** * **Support electrical integration tasks: harness routing, connector work, and basic continuity checks (with training provided as needed).** * **Diagnose issues during workshop and field operations; collaborate with engineers to identify root causes and implement solutions.** * **Workshop tasks: tool maintenance, fixtures, consumables, cleaning, and basic inventory control.** * **Document builds, modifications, and repairs so the system remains maintainable as we scale to low-volume production.** * **Read and interpret manufacturing and assembly drawings.** * **Support field testing and other events.** **Requirements** -------------- * **5+ years of experience as a mechanical technician (automotive, off-road, agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, or similar).** * **Ability to read technical drawings and follow structured assembly instructions.** * **Strong hands-on skills with tools: torque application, measurement, drilling, fasteners, alignment, and general mechanical assembly.** * **Safety-first mindset and willingness to follow procedures (especially around high-power systems).** * **Fluency in Spanish; basic English proficiency is helpful for technical collaboration.** * **Basic electronics knowledge (crimping, connectors, harness routing) and multimeter usage.** * **Forklift license or experience operating forklifts.** * **Welding or fabrication capability.** * **Comfort using issue trackers and simple logging tools to report test results and failures.** * **High tolerance for travel and comfort working in unstructured environments.** * **Sound judgment.
