At **IT Partner España**, we continue to grow and are looking to hire a **Senior WordPress Developer** with strong technical expertise and the ability to lead end-to-end development for high-impact projects. We seek a candidate with an engineering mindset, accustomed to working with best practices and possessing deep knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem beyond visual tools. What will be your mission? You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable WordPress solutions, participating across the full development lifecycle: from architecture definition to optimization and deployment. Responsibilities: * Define and develop complete WordPress project architectures from scratch * Create **custom themes** without using page builders or commercial templates * Design and develop **decoupled custom plugins** (independent of the theme) * Model content using Custom Post Types, taxonomies, and custom fields * Extend and consume the **WP REST API** * Lead **complex migrations** between environments or from other CMS platforms * Optimize performance and database queries * Apply WordPress security best practices * Automate tasks using ecosystem tools * Participate in version control processes and code reviews ✅ Essential Requirements: * \+5 years of WordPress development experience * In-depth knowledge of WordPress core: hooks, Loop, WP\_Query, and template hierarchy * Experience developing custom themes and plugins * Advanced knowledge of **PHP 8\+** and object-oriented programming * Experience with Composer, namespaces, and design patterns * Advanced proficiency with ACF (including ACF Pro, flexible content, and blocks) * Experience with WP REST API (endpoints, authentication, permissions) * Experience with complex migrations (data, SEO, redirects, users, media) * Performance optimization (caching, transients, profiling) * Solid security knowledge (XSS, CSRF, SQL Injection, etc.) * Proficiency with tools such as WP\-CLI, Git (Gitflow), and local environments (Docker, DDEV, Local) Location: * Madrid (hybrid): 3 days in office / 2 days remote * Mandatory availability to attend client offices Conditions: * Salary: **up to €42,000 gross/year** * Stable project in a demanding technological environment * Opportunities for growth and participation in complex projects What We Value: * Ability to make technical decisions autonomously * Quality- and best-practices-oriented mindset * Experience in demanding environments or large-scale projects
