At **Oxigent Technologies**, we are recruiting **a Backend Programmer** to participate in the **development of a massive, modular, and highly coupled ecosystem comprising dozens of mission-critical modules**, from their offices located in **Madrid**. What will your main responsibilities be? * **Evolve and maintain the business logic of a CORE platform** for insurance and finance. * **Develop and debug legacy Java backend**, including **Struts 1\.x, Hibernate XML, and DB2**, ensuring performance and consistency. * **Manage batch processes and SOAP services** in **WebSphere/JBoss** environments. * **Maintain and enhance server-side views** using **JSP/JSTL and Velocity**. * **Generate and maintain critical reports** using **JasperReports**, and manage database changes with Liquibase. * **Resolve complex production incidents, optimize performance, and ensure stability** in a regulated environment. What do you need to succeed? * At least **5 years of experience** in software development. * **Experience with Java 8, Struts** (proficiency in Actions, ActionForms, XML validations, and Tiles-based layouts), **Hibernate, and Eclipse**. * **Classic JSP/JSTL and Velocity**. * **DB2 (IBM)**: Advanced SQL, query optimization, and locking / performance analysis. * **Additional assets**: Quartz, SOAP integrations, JasperReports, Liquibase, Maven, and code quality tools (SonarQube). * **Experience in the insurance/banking sector**.
