Job Summary: We are seeking Senior Backend Developers for a cloud-native payment platform, designing and developing Java/Spring Boot microservices using modern architectures and DevOps principles. Location: Remote across Spain (100% remote) Salary: Up to €40.000 SBA Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00 (intensive summer schedule) Openings: 3 positions English: B2 level Who Are We? We are looking to hire 3 Senior Backend Developers to contribute to the development of a cloud-native payment platform, working with modern technologies and microservice architectures deployed on AWS and Kubernetes. The selected candidate will participate in the design, development, and operation of mission-critical business services, contributing to scalable, resilient, and secure solutions built on DevOps and continuous improvement principles. Main Responsibilities Design and Development * Design and implement microservices using Java and Spring Boot. * Build REST APIs and event-driven solutions. * Apply Clean Architecture and Domain-Driven Design principles. * Participate in technical and architectural decision-making. * Ensure maintainable, testable code aligned with best practices. Cloud-Native Environment * Deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS). * Integrate solutions with AWS services such as EKS, ECR, S3, RDS, and IAM. * Participate in infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines. CI/CD and DevOps * Work with continuous integration and deployment pipelines. * Implement unit, integration, and contract tests. * Participate in application releases and versioning. * Operate production services through monitoring and incident management. Reliability and Security * Design highly available and resilient services. * Implement observability via logs, metrics, and distributed tracing. * Apply secure development practices and vulnerability management. * Comply with regulatory and security standards. Collaboration * Collaborate with Product Owners, Platform teams, and other technical areas. * Actively participate in Agile ceremonies. * Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Mandatory Requirements Technical Experience * 3+ years of software development experience. * Solid experience with Java and Spring Boot. * Experience with microservice architectures. * Development and integration of REST APIs. * Relational databases, especially PostgreSQL. Cloud and Platform * Experience with AWS (EKS, ECR, S3, RDS, IAM). * Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes. * Experience working with CI/CD environments. Software Engineering * Automated testing with JUnit and Mockito. * Git usage and participation in code reviews. * Observability knowledge (logs, metrics, traces). * Strong understanding of security best practices and vulnerability management. Preferred Qualifications * Experience in payments, fintech, or regulated environments. * Knowledge of Kafka or RabbitMQ. * Experience with API Gateways. * Terraform or CloudFormation. * Understanding of distributed systems. * Multi-region architectures. * NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). * Caching systems such as Redis.
