**Job Mission**
We are seeking a **Back Office / Application Engineer specialized in Data Centers** to join Carrier’s Data Centers team in Iberia.
Your primary mission will be to provide **technical and application engineering support to the sales force**, transforming each project’s specifications and requirements into **technically sound, competitive, and commercially winning HVAC solutions**.
This will be a key role within the proposal process, working closely with **Sales, Product Management, Pricing, factories, and international engineering teams**, from receipt of the specification through to preparation and delivery of the final proposal to the sales team.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Analyze **technical specifications, tender documents, and related documentation** received from the sales team.
* Perform **technical equipment selections and HVAC system configurations**, seeking the optimal balance among technical compliance, efficiency, competitiveness, and cost.
* Analyze specific Data Center project requirements—including aspects such as **cooling capacity, energy efficiency, redundancy, design conditions, acoustics, hydraulics, dimensions, electrical supply, and control requirements**.
* Prepare **technical selections, data sheets, compliance sheets, deviations, technical documentation, and other required information** for each tender or proposal.
* Identify potential deviations from specifications and propose **technical alternatives or value engineering** to enhance proposal competitiveness.
* Coordinate with **Product Management, factories, and international engineering teams** on any necessary technical clarifications to ensure feasibility and compliance of the proposed solution.
* Prepare and complete all **technical documentation required for proposal and tender submissions**.
* Request and coordinate with the **international Pricing team** for pricing corresponding to selected equipment and configurations.
* Collaborate with the sales team to optimize proposals from both **technical and economic competitiveness perspectives**.
* Ensure proposals are prepared and delivered within client-defined deadlines.
* Maintain appropriate traceability of **selections, revisions, pricing, and documentation** associated with each opportunity.
* Provide technical support to the sales team during **technical clarifications, negotiations, and offer reviews** with clients, engineering firms, and contractors.
* Prepare the **final technical and commercial proposal**, delivering to the sales lead a complete, competitive, and presentation-ready solution.
* Collaborate with **Sales, Specification, Project Management, Product Management, and Pricing teams**, ensuring smooth transition of opportunities from the design phase through to award.
* Contribute to developing **standards, tools, templates, and best practices** to improve proposal quality and reduce preparation time.
**Profile**
* Preferably a **Mechanical, Industrial, Energy, or similar Engineering graduate**.
* Prior experience in **application engineering, proposal engineering, technical pre-sales, or HVAC equipment selection**.
* Solid experience and knowledge of **HVAC systems, air conditioning, and refrigeration**.
* Previous experience in **Data Centers, mission-critical infrastructure, or high-availability facilities** is highly valued.
* Ability to interpret **technical specifications, drawings, schematics, data sheets, and project documentation**.
* Knowledge of cold production systems—especially **chillers, free cooling, air handling units, and Data Center cooling solutions**.
* Ability to understand both technical and economic aspects of a proposal and achieve optimal balance among **compliance, performance, cost, and competitiveness**.
**Languages**
* **Spanish: mandatory.**
* **English: mandatory**, with ability to work daily with international teams and technical documentation.
* **Portuguese: desirable and considered a plus.**

This position will play a pivotal role in Carrier’s Iberia **Data Centers business growth strategy**, acting as the bridge between customer needs, the sales force, and Carrier’s technical and product capabilities—with a clear objective: **to convert every opportunity into a technically excellent, competitive, and winning proposal**.
**Salary Range**
The annual salary for this position ranges from €36,500.00–€73,500.00. Factors influencing compensation within this range may include, among others, skills, education, experience, and other candidate-specific qualifications. Factors influencing compensation within this salary range may include, among others, skills, academic background, experience, participation in a collective labor agreement (CLA), market pay for the role, and other unique qualifications of the selected candidate. **Additional Compensation**
