Description
**About Caefy**
**Caefy** is a Valencian technology startup that automates the document management process for **Coordination of Business Activities (CAE)** — a legal requirement affecting over 500,000 subcontracting companies in Spain. Today, these companies dedicate a significant portion of their resources to manually preparing, verifying, and uploading compliance documentation to multiple platforms. **Caefy** solves this problem with a *SaaS* solution that centralizes all documentation, verifies it using artificial intelligence, and automatically distributes it to the main CAE platforms on the market — including digital signature functionality.
We are a founding team combining a PhD in artificial intelligence, over fifteen years of international experience in operations management, and direct, hands-on knowledge of the problem from daily operations. We are currently in the *early traction* phase with real customers and are looking to bring on board our first team members at a time when every contribution has a direct impact on the product.
**What will be your mission?**
You will act as the bridge between functional product definition (led by our CAE-expert *Product Owner*) and technical architecture (led by our CTO). Your role involves translating business requirements into clear technical specifications, then implementing them within our tech stack.
We do not necessarily require prior experience in CAE — it is a highly specific domain learned through close collaboration with the team. What we *do* seek is strong analytical ability, genuine technical curiosity, and fluency working with AI tools applied to software development.
**Caefy** is an AI-native company: the use of artificial intelligence is not an occasional tool but a structural component of how we build products, verify documents, and accelerate development. We seek someone with a truly agile mindset — who understands rapid iteration, continuous learning, and constant improvement as a way of working, not merely as a methodology from a manual.
As the product advances, your role will broaden: you’ll evolve from focusing solely on new features to actively participating in the ongoing evolution of the production product — working side-by-side with the *Product Owner* to connect real feedback from pilot customers with product improvements.
**What will be your tasks?**
* Translate functional requirements defined by the *Product Owner* into clear, actionable, and verifiable technical specifications.
* Develop features across our stack: *Frontend*: Next.js/React/TypeScript // *Backend*: Python/FastAPI
* Review and evaluate code generated during development — including code produced by AI agents — to detect fragility, security issues, or incorrect solutions before it reaches production.
* Develop and validate features leveraging AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code, MCP), integrated into your regular work cycle.
* Define and optimize automation for our agents in triaging and resolving incidents.
* Maintain and debug integrations with external CAE platforms connected to Caefy, including diagnosing failures when those platforms change behavior or break integrations.
* Participate in verifying and improving our AI-based document processing pipeline.
* Implement automated tests (Vitest on frontend, pytest on backend) as part of the development cycle.
**What are we looking for?**
**Essential Requirements**
* Degree in Computer Engineering, Software Development, or equivalent (e.g., CFGS DAM/DAW or higher); self-taught profiles with demonstrable projects are also valued.
* Solid knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and Python. Expert-level mastery is not required, but you must have a sufficient foundation to analyze and reason about code.
* Technical judgment to review and evaluate code — identifying fragile, insecure, or incorrect solutions. In an AI-assisted development environment, this evaluative capability weighs more heavily than raw coding speed.
* Analytical ability to decompose business requirements into technical components and translate them into verifiable specifications.
* Quality and verification orientation: designing edge-case scenarios, validations, and tests that guarantee code correctness — never assuming validity (whether human- or AI-generated) without prior verification.
* Debugging and root-cause analysis capability across system layers (logs, task queues, third-party APIs, browser automation) — critical due to our reliance on external integrations.
* Experience using AI tools applied to software development beyond autocomplete: knowing how to structure context, tools, and review cycles to obtain reliable outputs from AI agents. This is a core competency for the role.
* Communication skills: you will serve as the liaison between functional definition (business) and technical architecture, so precision in communication is essential.
* Autonomy and accountability for your own work, with capacity to progressively assume broader technical scope.
\*No prior CAE experience is required — it is a highly specific domain you’ll learn by working side-by-side with us.
**Valuable Knowledge (not mandatory)**
These add value but are not essential requirements:
* Personal automation projects using AI or agents: the strongest signal that this way of working aligns with you.
* Knowledge of security and data protection (GDPR, processing of special-category data): the documentation we manage may include such data.
* Experience in browser automation (Playwright) or RPA — core technologies in our platform.
* Experience with asynchronous task queues: ARQ, Celery, or similar, and Redis.
* Knowledge of Docker and cloud environments: Railway, Vercel, Supabase.
**What do we offer?**
* Join a growing team with real, direct impact on the product.
* Be part of an AI-native company from day one — not a traditional company adding AI to existing processes, but one built with AI embedded directly in its DNA.
* Accelerated learning: you’ll work with AI applied to development as a daily tool, not as an occasional user.
* Work on a project where AI is central: you’ll participate in its development and integration across all our processes, mastering current AI-model collaboration methodologies — working side-by-side with our CTO (PhD in Computer Science) and Product Owner.
* Hybrid work model and flexible hours.
* Genuine agile methodologies: Scrum for product development, Kanban for incident management.
* Opportunities for growth within the company as the team and product scale.
