The position involves developing and maintaining robust, scalable backend services using Python. Daily responsibilities include designing and building APIs that integrate artificial intelligence and data science into production environments, working with machine learning models and Large Language Models (LLMs) to ensure their proper functioning within existing systems. Service architecture is also defined, clear boundaries are established, data is modeled, and efficient persistence strategies are created — always prioritizing reliability, security, and cost optimization. Services will be deployed and operated in the cloud, preferably on AWS, managing technical challenges such as latency, request rate limits, retries, and handling of sensitive data. Collaboration with data science teams, product managers, and platform engineers is essential to align technical development with business objectives. Additionally, you will participate in code reviews, support other team members, and lead technical discussions to foster best practices and innovation. The contract is temporary and full-time, within a dynamic work environment focused on delivering high-quality technical solutions that enhance the final product’s value in Viladecans. Proven experience in backend software development — approximately seven years or equivalent technical impact — is required. Advanced proficiency in Python and experience in API and backend service design are essential. Strong architectural knowledge of distributed systems, fault management, and relational database design is required, along with hands-on experience operating services in cloud environments, preferably AWS. Good practices in clean code, testing, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), observability, and production support are highly valued. Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is also required, as well as sensitivity and experience in security, privacy, and data protection.
