Your Role at Iberia Development and enhancement of optimization tools, primarily within the Jeppesen environment and across various crew planning and scheduling processes. This position combines applied software development, operational analytics (various KPI sets), and process optimization through new technologies, with direct exposure to key flight operations areas. We seek a curious, analytical, and technology-passionate individual who will develop their professional career by balancing coding for our crew scheduling optimizer with optimizing management processes. To achieve this, you will collaborate with various company departments, gaining broad knowledge of the airline’s production operations. Your Challenges * Code, parameterize, and maintain the Carmen/Jeppesen crew scheduling optimizer, translating operational requirements into rules, constraints, and functional improvements. * Optimize resources with a focus on productivity, assignment quality, and internal customer satisfaction. * Develop automations jointly with end users to reduce manual tasks, data entry errors, and processing time, using programming languages and tools appropriate for the corporate environment. * Design and maintain reports and dashboards in Power BI, Advanced Excel, or other corporate tools for tracking planning and scheduling KPIs. * Evaluate use cases for artificial intelligence and advanced analytics applicable to the process: anomaly detection, simulations, incident prioritization, validation assistance, and operational documentation generation. Your Qualifications * University degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Aeronautics, or another STEM field with a quantitative and programming foundation. * High level of English proficiency, preferably C1 or equivalent, enabling work with technical documentation and communication with suppliers or international teams. Additional Job Requirements * Programming: Practical knowledge of Python, SQL, and/or automation- and data-processing-oriented languages. VBA is a plus. * Analytics and BI: Advanced Excel proficiency and ability to build models, reports, and dashboards in Power BI; DAX, Power Query, and data modeling are valued. * Optimization and Operations Research: Interest in or experience with business rules, heuristics, linear/integer programming, solvers, or applied optimization tools. * Applied AI: Ability to identify realistic use cases for generative AI or machine learning, with attention to data quality, traceability, security, and maintainability. * Ability to learn corporate tools, operational procedures, and regulations applicable to crew members. * Autonomy, rigorous documentation practices, end-user orientation, and capacity to test solutions before deployment. * Availability and schedule flexibility compatible with critical milestones of monthly scheduling. * Teamwork, clear communication with both technical and non-technical profiles, and ability to challenge requirements when they add no value or generate unnecessary complexity.
