Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, cutting, and storing food items. Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables. Measure, weigh, and mix ingredients. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists. Prepare cold food items. Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Test food to ensure it is properly cooked. Monitor food quality during preparation. Set up and clean food work areas. Portion and serve food in appropriate containers and correct quantities. Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment. Verify and confirm that appliance and food temperatures are accurate.
Comply with all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance and repair needs, incidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management; and complete safety training and certifications. Maintain a neat and professional uniform and personal appearance. Protect confidential information and safeguard company assets. Communicate with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team in achieving common goals, listen attentively to colleagues’ concerns, and respond appropriately. Adhere to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, walk, and lift for extended periods during shifts. Bend, twist, pull, stoop, reach above head and below knees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance. Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
