Responsibilities:
We are seeking to hire a **Project Manager – Green Building & Sustainability** for our growing Sustainability team in **Madrid, Spain**.
The selected candidate will participate in the execution of high-profile sustainable building projects in Spain and internationally, with a particular focus on **sustainable design, sustainability consultancy, and environmental certifications**. This role offers the opportunity to assume greater responsibilities and contribute to the continued expansion of our sustainability services in Spain and other European markets.
Success in this role will involve:
* **Leading and/or supporting** the execution of sustainable building, sustainability, and certification projects—from concept phase through construction and completion.
* **Managing and coordinating** LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and other relevant certification processes—including strategy development, documentation, submissions, reviews, and audits.
* **Providing technical advisory services** on sustainable design, energy efficiency, carbon performance, resource efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and overall environmental performance.
* **Reviewing** architectural, MEP, and technical design proposals to identify opportunities for improving sustainable performance and achieving certification goals.
* **Coordinating** sustainability requirements across multidisciplinary design and construction teams, ensuring their appropriate integration into project execution.
* **Preparing and reviewing** technical reports, sustainability assessments, calculations, presentations, and certification documentation—as well as **leading** related meetings and workshops.
* **Planning and overseeing** project programs, commercial performance, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle—including deliverables, budgets, resources, and timelines.
* **Developing and maintaining** strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders—providing effective technical and management support.
* **Advising clients** on defining sustainability objectives and developing practical strategies to achieve their environmental and sustainable building goals.
* **Staying current** on Spanish and European regulations, standards, and requirements related to sustainability, energy efficiency, construction, and certifications.
* **Supporting** business development, proposals, presentations, and the growth of sustainability services in Spain and other European markets.
* **Providing guidance and mentoring** to junior professionals—while ensuring appropriate quality control, documentation management, and proper handling of deliverables.
* **Traveling** within Spain and internationally as required for project execution, client meetings, workshops, and business development activities.
Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, we expect your professional background to include:
* **More than 5 years of professional experience** in construction, building, and/or sustainability sectors.
* **More than 2 years of relevant experience managing sustainability certifications**, with solid expertise in LEED and/or WELL; BREEAM experience is highly desirable.
* An **active LEED AP credential**, or commitment to obtain LEED AP, WELL AP, and/or a relevant assessor certification/accreditation within **3 months of joining**.
* A university degree in **Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or a related discipline**.
* Experience working with **multidisciplinary design and construction teams**, coupled with strong knowledge of sustainable design and building environmental performance.
* Experience in **project coordination, program management, stakeholder management, and client relations**; project management experience is highly valued.
* Fluency in both Spanish and English, with excellent technical, writing, and presentation skills.
* Strong familiarity with the Spanish and/or European construction and sustainability markets.
* Willingness and ability to travel within Spain and internationally as required.
* Postgraduate education in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or Project/Program Management is considered a strong asset.
