Position Summary: Machining Workshop Manager to lead process management and continuous improvement in a dynamic and collaborative environment within high-demand sectors. Key Highlights: 1. Corporate culture based on respect, integrity, and collaboration You will be the cornerstone of managing the machining workshop, composed of various manufacturing cells. Your mission will be to ensure adherence to the production plan, guaranteeing that all relevant KPIs exceed established targets. You will be responsible for improving plant efficiency as well as transferring industrialization projects into production. You will drive implementation of the APQP methodology and continuous improvement initiatives. You will actively support the development of team capabilities and ensure compliance with all organizational standards (Safety, Prevention, Environment, 5S, Quality, On-time Delivery, and Productivity). Familiarity with tools such as 5S, TPM, SMED, OEE, 5W, Pareto, Ishikawa, and other methodologies aligned with 6\-Sigma is required. You will operate in a dynamic and collaborative environment, actively contributing to the organization’s overall success. Tasks 1\. Enforcement of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SSMA) Standards: Enforce all safety, health, and prevention regulations; foster a proactive safety mindset among staff to identify and assess risks, follow safety procedures, and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE); jointly lead SSMA training initiatives with the Prevention Department. Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, as well as compliance with environmental legislation, thereby safeguarding everyone’s well-being and protection. 2\. Quality Promotion and Compliance with All Standards: Maintain active oversight of processes to ensure product quality and execution of all controls and verifications defined as standards by the Quality Department (IVs). This includes measuring and verifying produced parts, documenting and communicating any quality deviations, and proposing and implementing corrective actions. Additionally, ensure proper implementation of the 5S standard across the plant to maintain a safe working environment. 3\. Training and Continuous Improvement: Design, implement, and supervise training, refresher, and requalification plans to disseminate best practices in machining and quality control, ensuring all personnel are fully informed and adequately trained. Extend this approach to Lean Manufacturing and 6\-Sigma methodologies. Implement and promote these methodologies to continuously improve production processes, thus enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization. 4\. Operation and Maintenance of Machining Centers: Ensure adherence to the production plan, achieving the targeted efficiency level (OEE) and executing established management cycles (shift meetings, daily meetings, weekly meetings, etc.). Ensure operators follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in each cell to keep all machining centers running simultaneously and without quality-related incidents. 5\. Industrialization of Programs and Processes, and Continuous Improvement: Lead prototype development and initial production runs for programs under development, coordinating closely between Technical Office and Workshop. Collaborate with Engineering and Quality departments to standardize manufacturing methods, tooling, and operation sequences. Requirements Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician or, alternatively, FPII Mechanical Machining Technician or Higher Vocational Training in Machining Mandatory: * Work and residence permit in Spain. Professional Experience: * Minimum 10 years’ experience operating machining centers in high-demand sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and defense. * Experience with various machine types: turning centers, 4- and 5-axis machining centers equipped with Fanuc and Heidenhain controls, stamping, and welding equipment. * Experience machining various metals: aluminum, stainless steel, copper, titanium, nickel-rich alloys, etc. Certifications and Specific Knowledge: * Certification in Lean Manufacturing, SMED, 5S, and 6\-Sigma. * Certifications in Project Management and Industrialization. * Front-end forklift operator certification, overhead crane operator certification, and occupational risk prevention course (prevention resource) are desirable. Technical Skills: * In-depth knowledge of machining processes and CNC machinery. * Ability to perform efficient tool adjustments and changes. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and completing required production and quality documentation. * Extensive knowledge of dimensional and geometric tolerances, as well as use of measurement equipment. * Expertise in deburring and finishing processes. Competencies and Skills: * Outstanding communication and leadership abilities. * Ability to collaborate with support departments (HR, Quality, Engineering, etc.) in generating documentation. * Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills. * Strong advocate for quality and attention to detail. * Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Languages and IT Skills: * Full proficiency in Spanish is mandatory. * Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (CATIA, Mastercam, or hyperMILL). * Experience supervising workforce activities and incidents using ERP, MES, CMMS, and similar systems (SAP, BAAN, SAGE DYNAMICS, CAPTOR, etc.). * Proficient user-level knowledge of standard office software (Microsoft Office suite).
