Description
We are seeking a professional to ensure food quality and safety within a company in the food sector. The candidate will join the quality control team, coordinating laboratory operations, managing sampling, analysis, and product holds. They will also handle technical documentation, audits and certifications, as well as maintain the quality management system. The role involves supervising a team of five to seven people, organizing tasks and promoting continuous improvement. Additionally, the candidate will manage equipment calibration, maintenance, and procurement of laboratory materials. They will participate in improvement projects, shelf-life studies, and document updates, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
Permanent contract, full-time on-site work. Location: O Grove (Pontevedra). Collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
Required qualifications include a degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science and Technology, or equivalent; or a Higher Vocational Training qualification related to Laboratory, Quality, or the Food Industry. At least three years of experience in quality laboratories or quality departments within the food industry is required. Experience in the fish and seafood canning sector, as well as in team and laboratory process coordination, is highly desirable. Required knowledge includes quality management systems, food legislation, traceability, audits, laboratory analytical techniques, SAP, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of certifications and standards such as BRC, IFS, ISO, MSC, HALAL, or CRAEGA is also valued. Regarding languages, native or bilingual Spanish proficiency is required, along with intermediate English (B1\-B2\).
