ACCIONA, within its Water business line, requires an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to lead this area in its Alkimos project in Perth, Australia. Job Description Mission: Execute assigned project tasks within your unit/department, in accordance with established procedures, to ensure adherence to scheduled deadlines and to coordinate necessary resources (human and material), while driving significant improvements to the project. They are responsible for executing construction contracts. They plan, optimize, and supervise resource utilization to ensure construction works are completed on time, to specification, and within budget. Their common responsibilities include: managing contracts and obtaining required permits and licenses; preparing budget estimates; planning and scheduling construction phases; supervising subcontractor and subordinate staff or labor activities; verifying progress and work quality throughout all project phases; representing the company in relevant matters. Candidate Requirements Main Responsibilities: Requirements Analysis and Engineering Design * Analyze project specifications, tender requirements, and technical documentation to define the scope of I&C and design criteria. * Lead the development of detailed I&C engineering, including: * Control system architecture * Instrumentation specifications * Control logic definition * Instrument loop diagrams * Cable routing and field installation drawings * Ensure all design deliverables comply with project standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations. Preparation of Deliverables and Client Interaction * Prepare all required I&C engineering deliverables for client review and approval. * Present, justify, and defend proposed technical solutions to clients, consultants, and other stakeholders. * Provide timely responses to client comments, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Procurement Support * Manage procurement packages related to I&C, including DCS/PLC systems, field instrumentation, control panels, and associated equipment. * Prepare technical specifications, evaluate supplier bids, and support commercial and technical negotiations. * Maintain smooth interaction with suppliers and the client during procurement and design clarification phases. Construction and Commissioning Support * Provide technical support to construction teams regarding installation methods, wiring, loop verification, and testing requirements. * Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring system compliance with design intent and operational requirements. * Review subcontractor documentation and ensure alignment with project standards. Leadership and Collaboration * Coordinate and mentor a team of I&C engineers and designers. * Support multidisciplinary coordination, especially with Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Process Engineering teams. * Promote good engineering practices and continuous improvement within the I&C discipline. Quality Management and Documentation * Ensure technical documentation is accurate, consistent, and delivered on schedule. * Apply rigorous quality control processes, including design reviews, verifications, and timely resolution of non-conformances. * Maintain organized records, version control, and traceability of all engineering deliverables.
