Job Description Position Vacant **Girbau: Senior Firmware Engineer** Location Vic Region Osona Number of Positions 1 Category Technician Department R\&D Working Hours Flexible split schedule from Monday to Friday Salary According to Girbau’s remuneration system Contract Type Permanent Description As part of the R\&D department, the candidate will join as a Senior Firmware Engineer, leading the design and implementation of new hardware and software platforms for Girbau’s commercial machines, aiming to ensure quality, reliability, and time-to-market, while prioritizing teamwork and version control tools. Main Functions and Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain the current hardware and software platform, and participate in the specification, design, and implementation of strategic future platforms for Girbau - Select technologies and define the evolutionary roadmap jointly with other Girbau technical teams (Digital, Electrical, Certification, etc.) as well as with the Commercial team - Lead, together with the technical manager, future designs and participate in the selection of potential suppliers, engineering firms, or electronic design partners - Ensure development follows methodologies and standards to guarantee maximum product quality and reliability in both hardware and software - Generate efficient, secure, clean, and well-documented code - Ensure regulatory compliance Publication Date 25/02/2026 Requirements Qualification Technical or Higher Engineering Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field Preferred Profile A professional holding a Technical or Higher Engineering Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in developing embedded solutions for industrial, automotive, or similar sectors. Experience with Embedded Linux, including system configuration and driver integration. Experience in developing HMI interfaces. Experience in complex projects combining hardware and software, preferably as a technical reference. Requirements Mandatory Other Requirements Technical Knowledge: - Embedded C/C\+\+, Linux (Yocto/Buildroot), Qt/QML HMI - Hardware (schematics, Gerbers, BOMs) and protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet) - Experience with RTOS/Baremetal, Git/SVN, and Agile methodologies English language proficiency is desirable, as well as other languages.
