Based in Spain or Portugal, this role manages workshop tasks as well as on-site mechanical repairs, inspections, adjustments, and other service-related activities for our mining products. You will report directly to our After-Sales Manager in Spain. This is a remote position requiring approximately 80% travel. **Team you’ll join:** You will join a team of field service specialists committed to technical problem analysis and solution recommendations, inspection/service reporting, maintenance, training, commissioning procedures, and advisory services for start-up. Our team culture is built on collaboration and a customer satisfaction focus. **What you’ll do:** **Interact and communicate:** Interact with personnel and management at all levels—both internally and externally—building positive relationships. **Travel:** Work at remote customer sites for extended periods, experiencing diverse cultures and environments. **Audit and preparation:** Conduct pre-installation audits to assess site conditions, customer readiness, project inventory, and installation logistics. **Problem solver:** Manage field service challenges with clarity and accountability, ensuring rapid resolution. **Detailed reporting:** Submit recommendations, evaluations, expense reports, action reports, and monthly work logs in accordance with Metso’s reporting and billing processes. **Training expert:** Deliver comprehensive field- and classroom-based training on service, maintenance, and commissioning for customers and end-user personnel. **Safety first:** Comply with safety requirements—including Lockout/Tagout procedures—and adhere to Metso’s HSE and site safety guidelines. **Who you are:** Experience in maintenance and/or rebuilding/assembly of heavy mining equipment. Mechanical vocational qualification (FP)/degree or equivalent, with at least 2 years’ experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety standards, electrical and hydraulic drawings, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or organizational employees. Strong communication skills; fluency in English—both spoken and written—is mandatory. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is valued; French is desirable. Valid Class B driving license.
