Description

The warehouse assistant is a fundamental part of the logistics chain, responsible for manual and organizational tasks that ensure the proper flow of goods. Their main activities include receiving materials, verifying inventory against delivery notes and incoming orders. They must ensure that loading and unloading are carried out safely and efficiently, using appropriate equipment and following established protocols to prevent damage to products—which in this case are primarily furniture. Additionally, they are responsible for internal warehouse organization, moving and distributing products to their designated locations to optimize space and facilitate subsequent identification and preparation for shipment. This role requires continuous teamwork with other operators, supervisors, and occasionally with transport drivers, ensuring all operations are executed accurately and within established deadlines. Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory records and immediately reporting any discrepancies or incidents. The work environment is dynamic and physically demanding; therefore, stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks are important qualities. The assistant may also participate in cleaning tasks and basic maintenance of storage areas and used equipment, thereby contributing to an orderly and safe working environment for all employees. In short, this position is essential for the warehouse’s daily operational efficiency and for achieving the company’s logistics objectives, requiring responsibility and a proactive attitude. The company offers a centralized working schedule from 9:00 to 18:00, including one hour for lunch. The employment contract complies with current labor legislation, including corresponding social benefits. The position is based in an industrial setting within a warehouse, involving tasks with moderate physical demands. Necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to ensure safe performance of duties. At least one year of demonstrable experience as a warehouse assistant is required, preferably in the furniture sector. A valid driver’s license class B (for cars), class C (for rigid trucks), and class C\+E (for articulated vehicles) are mandatory. Additionally, the official certification for cargo securing and stowage training is compulsory to guarantee safe practices during transportation and handling.
