Requirements specification and analysis. Responsible in clarification discussions on unclear/ambiguous ME requirements. Component/material selection in accordance with mechanical requirements. Review applicable systemic issues of project. Responsible to ensure ME Requirements implementation (Lear and customer) in the design before each design freeze milestone. Identify and report to appropriate MTL possible risks. Implementation and Design: Ensure design approach according ME Requirements, Standards and Guidelines. Responsible for the Mechanical BOM. Ensure Mechanical deliverables are in place for the release according to the time plan (BOM, Simulation, ...). Define all robust design analysis/simulations (FEAs, Design Reviews, thermal analysis, etc..) and ensure they are done and reviewed before each Release. Support CTO Workshops and new idea’s implementation in project and measure impact in BOM towards reaching target price. Ensure cost optimized design and mitigate eBOM cost deviations of awarded programs to keep program financials safe regardless of the issues detected during the development. Leads the Mechanical concept review for DV, PV and production releases when there are changes impacting the Key architectural and technical concepts. Keep close contact to Key suppliers from the involved project and Solution Architect to consider up to date topologies within mechanical design. Triggering the need of Technical Design Reviews (internal, key suppliers and customer) and participate actively in them to improve design quality. Support to System DFMEA (Review and execute tasks) and participate actively in cross functional team meetings. Support on Feasibility Analysis to assess a changes request (CR, CTO, SCRs, …). Support on generate ideas and contribute to achieve CTO/ Design\-To\-Cost targets. Responsible to review all drawings according planning to ensure technical consistency and sign them. Key contributor to capture Mechanical knowledge for potential updates on Design Guidelines. Responsible to follow the task management process according the planning. Analyze and adopt ideas captured from benchmarking. Support MDE on analyse PPAP documentation from custom mechanical components. Gate Review and Release: Identify open issues to be tracked. \-\> Problem Resolution. Following the process defined for the Problem Management Process and support on defect analysis. Review Mechanical verification reports and results consistency. Responsible on inital sample review. Ensure mitigation (correction) of failures reported in Mechanical verification. Provide input to thermal analysis and active support in close collaboration with HW/PCB design team. The main technical skills needed by a Mechanical Engineer are: Mechanical Design: Proficiency in designing mechanical systems and components. Materials Science: Understanding the properties and applications of different materials used in mechanical engineering. Thermodynamics: Knowledge of heat transfer, energy conversion, and thermodynamic cycle (Knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems design). Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Knowledge in order to review analysis from Simulations \& directing the proper solution. Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Knowledge in order to review analysis from Simulations \& directing the proper solution. Prototyping and Testing: Skills prototype manufacturing procedures conducting tests to verify designs. Knowledge of customer(s) procedures. Knowledge of the development processes established in the organization \& project. Knowledge of industry applicable standards (i.e. Automotive SPICE, ISO, IATF, APQP\-PPAP, ...). Knowledge of the change management tools used in the organization (i.e. ALM, SEM). Knowledge of the requirements management tools used in the organization (i.e. DOORS). Knowledge of the configuration management tools used in the organization (i.e. SVN). Knowledge of the problem resolution tools used in the organization (i.e. ALM). Knowledge of cost estimation methods for different technical solutions. Lean Manufacturing: Understanding of lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste in manufacturing processes.
