




**Background:** PKL Services Inc. will be providing Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI) Repair and Squadron Support Services on MH\-60R \& MH\-60S aircraft in support of PMA\-299 Naval Air Systems Command. **All work will be performed at Naval Air Station (NAS) Rota, Spain.** **Note:** **This position is contingent upon contract award** **All non \-Spanish National candidates must be a U.S. Citizen to apply** **Summary:** **The Machinist / Sheetmetal Mechanic (MH\-60\)** performs scheduled PMI maintenance on aircraft airframe, power plants, corrosion control and painting for T/M/S/ aircraft hired to maintain. The mechanic also performs flight line essential services as directed. **Other duties and responsibilities include:** Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, etc. Setting up and operating fabrication machinery, reading technical drawings, working with materials like metals and composites, troubleshooting complex equipment, and maintaining tools. Skill in the use of a wide variety of complicated hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments, associated with the trade. Removes fixed sheet metal and composite structures from aircraft: disassembles structural and non\-structural metal and composite components. Assesses damaged parts to determine the sequence of operations necessary to affect repairs or replacements. Repairs structural parts and skin surfaces of, fuselages, tail section, doors, pilot seats, tail cones, engine cowls, and fairings by straightening, reforming, or reshaping, bent, twisted or distorted portions with press brakes, bending rolls, shrinking and stretching machines, or forming blocks. Cuts out or otherwise removes damaged parts and inserts new parts or patches. Modifies aircraft and aircraft components by incorporating airframe changes (AFC), bulletins, etc. Lays out, cuts, drills, bends, forms and shapes sheet metal and extruded metal stock. Uses standard tools of the trade and special tools, such as press brakes, metal cutting equipment, shrinking, stretching, and forming machines, hydraulic presses, punch presses, turret punches, drill presses, etc. Operates more complex hand and power machines, e.g.rolls, l forming machines, box and pan breaks, rotary machines with extra forming rolls, and crimpers and beading machines. Completes operations by deburring, filing, drilling and smoothing parts by hand. Chemically treats surfaces reworked. Assesses completed assemblies to ensure compliance with technical references. **Required educational/skills background:** High school diploma or equivalent. Current US passport if not a citizen of Spain. 8 years’ current or previous experience performing complex helicopter mechanical work. Experience as an aircraft machinist. Experience performing structural repair utilizing sheet metal, fiberglass, and composite materials. Past maintenance experience on MH\-60 helicopters preferred. Shall be able to obtain a NAS Rota base access card or Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems. If deemed by the Site Manager, this individual must acquire all Support Equipment licenses that are required for the position. Shall perform requirements in a manner that meet or exceeds CNAFINST 4790\.2 series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions. Knowledge of naval maintenance publications, maintenance requirement cards. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. May be exposed at times to moderate discomforts such as heat, cold, rain, wind.
