Rapid learning due to short project lead times **Description** --------------- TALLERS SERRA, S.L., an industrial machinery manufacturer serving the corrugated cardboard sector and located in Martorell, is seeking to fill the position of **INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY ENGINEER.** The primary responsibility will be the design of mechanical machinery for the corrugated cardboard industry, contributing to continuous improvement of production processes, cost reduction, enhanced industrial production quality, and value generation in terms of efficiency. The short project lead time—just six months from customer order to machine delivery—enables rapid learning. **Responsibilities** ------------- **Perform overall conceptual and mechanical design of machinery.** **Define the conceptual design of prototypes:** * Collection and documentation of customer requirements * Definition of potential solutions * Mechanical definition * Definition of electrical and pneumatic functionality, and transmission of requirements to electrical engineers * Safety * Sustainability * Perform mechanical design of the machine * Design of parts and assemblies using Solid Edge or Solid Works * Preparation of drawings for designed parts, or supervision of drafters performing this task * Documentation and presentation of performed calculations * Project management * Scope definition * Planning * Risk identification and contingency planning * Quality definition * Smooth communication with stakeholders, especially the customer * Implement innovative technical solutions to improve quality and efficiency * Conduct field tests * Conduct tests on machines during conceptual design * Conduct tests on designed and manufactured machines **Project Development** **Mechanical Manufacturing** **Evaluate the performance of industrial systems and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency** **Knowledge and Competencies** -------------------------------- * Ability to identify problems and propose effective solutions * Experience coordinating and supervising work teams * Effective communication skills to interact across departments and organizational levels, as well as with customers * Proactive and solution-oriented individual * Ability to analyze data, processes, and systems to identify improvements **Requirements** -------------- **Minimum Education:** Mechanical Industrial Engineer **Minimum Requirements:** * Proficiency in a CAD software (Solid Works or Solid Edge) * Knowledge of mechanical components and machining processes * Creativity and proactivity * Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial machinery design * High-level English, Spanish, and Catalan * Willingness to travel occasionally **Desired Qualifications:** * Residence near Martorell * Immediate availability **Benefits** ---------------- Competitive salary commensurate with candidate’s experience and expertise, along with professional development opportunities. **Working Hours** ----------- * Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. * Flexible working hours around standard office hours: * Monday to Thursday: 07:30–13:30 and 14:15–17:00 * Friday: 07:30–13:45
