For this project, we are seeking a professional to fill the position of **WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT \- FORKLIFT OPERATOR** at an established company in the food industry. Location of vacancies: **Barcelona (Mercabarna).** ******Responsibilities** Goods receipt: * Unloading trucks and verifying received goods. * Checking delivery notes, quantities, and product condition. * Recording incoming goods in the system (ERP or warehouse software). Storage and organization: * Placing products on shelves or in designated areas. * Optimizing space according to rotation principles (FIFO, LIFO). * Maintaining warehouse order and cleanliness. Order preparation (picking and packing): * Collecting products according to purchase orders. * Packaging and labeling goods. * Preparing pallets or boxes for dispatch. Goods dispatch: * Loading trucks or delivery vehicles. * Final order verification before shipment. * Coordination with transport companies or couriers. Use of tools and machinery: * Operation of manual or electric pallet trucks. * On-board electric pallet trucks. * Frontal, trilateral, or retractable forklifts. * Forklift operation (if operator’s license is held). * Scanning barcodes using RF guns or PDAs. Stock control: * Periodic inventory counts. * Identifying stock shortages or discrepancies. * Supporting product traceability. Other routine responsibilities: * Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. * Supporting general warehouse tasks. * In some cases, basic administrative duties. REQUIREMENTS **Educational requirements** * Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) or equivalent. * Logistics, warehouse, or supply chain training is desirable (e.g., professional certification such as *Auxiliary Warehouse Activities*). * Valid forklift operator’s license is mandatory. **Experience** * Minimum 2 years’ prior experience in warehouse, logistics, picking, or order preparation. * Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP systems (desirable but not always mandatory). **Technical competencies** * Operation of frontal, retractable, and electric pallet trucks. * Basic use of PDAs or RF guns. * Knowledge of logistics processes (receipt, storage, picking, dispatch). **Personal competencies** * Orderliness, responsibility, and attention to detail. * Physical work capacity (lifting and moving goods). * Teamwork and good coordination skills. * Agility and productivity orientation. * Adaptability to workload peaks or shift work. * Motivation to progress and grow within the company. * Punctuality and commitment. * Strict adherence to safety and occupational risk prevention regulations. **We offer** * Indefinite-term contract. * Working hours: 8:00–17:00, including one hour for lunch. * Availability to occasionally rotate to the 6:00–14:00 schedule. * Salary: €22,400 gross per year, paid in 12 installments.
