Conducting technical site visits to construction sites or project locations. **Requisition Number:** 24307BR **Description:** Stantec is seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its offices in Peru, requiring a professional with at least 15 years of general work experience. Key specific responsibilities include: * Design and selection of mechanical equipment for mining projects. * Design of pumping systems and piping systems for tailings handling. * Design and selection of mechanical equipment for ventilation, HVAC, and hoisting systems. * Development of design criteria, calculation memoranda, technical specifications, data sheets, equipment lists, piping and valve lists, and quantity take-offs. * Coordination with the discipline lead on project development planning, required information, deliverables, resources, and other matters. * Coordination with various disciplines during project execution. * Leadership of assigned project teams. * Review, control, and approval of deliverables prepared by engineers and CAD technicians. * Occasional technical site visits to construction sites or project locations, either for proposals or ongoing projects. **Qualifications:** Requirements for this position are: * Degree in Mechanical Engineering (valid professional license). * Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. * Postgraduate diploma or advanced degree in Project Management based on PMI practices. * Specialized master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. * Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering project management and design within mechanical and piping disciplines in mining and industrial sectors. * Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical equipment and piping system design. * Strong knowledge of mechanical and piping design standards. * Strong knowledge of mining and water treatment processes. * Strong knowledge of conveyor belt, storage tank, and pressure vessel design. * Strong knowledge of piping system design and pump equipment selection. * Strong knowledge of engineering calculation software. * Strong knowledge of fabrication and welding processes for steel structures and pressure vessels. * ADVANCED proficiency in English. * Advanced proficiency in the following software: * AutoCAD Mechanical * AFT Fathom and Impulse * MathCAD * Intermediate proficiency in the following software: * Inventor Professional * AutoCAD Plant 3D **About Stantec:** Stantec’s global community comprises approximately 34,000 employees working across more than 450 locations on six continents.
