Geotechnical analysis oriented toward engineering solutions. **Requisition Number:** 24297BR **Description:** Stantec is recruiting a Junior Geotechnical Engineer for its offices in Peru, seeking a professional with at least three years of general work experience. Key responsibilities include: * Providing project management support, including assisting the project team with assigned task management and peer communications. * Anticipating and communicating needs to perform work promptly and with effective solutions. * Coordinating and monitoring the work of other team members. * Conducting geotechnical evaluations and analyses, including, for example: field data quality review and assurance; participation in field characterization programs; preparation of field characterization programs; geotechnical analysis oriented toward engineering solutions to meet design objectives and criteria for tailings or rock waste dump structures. * Serving as a leader within the T&W team to promote a horizontal culture with open communication and idea exchange among team members, peers (other Stantec Principals), and superiors. **Qualifications:** Requirements for this position are: * Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering * Licensed and registered professional * 1–3 years of experience in similar positions * Knowledge of soil and rock mechanics * Planning, execution, and management of field and laboratory geotechnical investigations * Analysis and calculations for tailings dam, water dam, and mine rock waste dump design * Design of geotechnical solutions for civil and mining infrastructure * Proficiency with standard geotechnical modeling software, including: Excel, Word, Geostudio, or Rocsience * Knowledge and understanding of international standards for dams, mines, tailings, and waste dumps * Understanding of fundamental hydrology and hydraulics principles * Advanced-level Excel proficiency * Intermediate-level English proficiency **About Stantec:** Stantec’s community comprises approximately 34,000 employees working across more than 450 locations on six continents.
