This role will challenge the candidate to integrate occupational health management with site operations—particularly in high-altitude working conditions—ensuring appropriate medical surveillance and implementation of health programs that contribute to personnel well-being and operational continuity. **Key Responsibilities** * Analyze occupational health trends and propose improvements to management systems. * Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in occupational health and well-being. * Design and coordinate occupational health plans jointly with operational areas. * Supervise implementation of medical control and surveillance programs. * Ensure compliance with current occupational health regulations. * Monitor contractor performance regarding occupational health matters. * Track implementation of the operation’s polyclinic work plan. * Supervise compliance with occupational health and hygiene programs. * Support implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS). **Job Requirements** * University degree in Risk Prevention Engineering, Industrial Safety Engineering, or related fields. * Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems or similar is desirable. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar roles within mining, including managing occupational health systems and on-site medical surveillance. * *Desirable:* Experience with regulatory enforcement agencies. **Key Knowledge Areas** * Occupational safety and health management system * Industrial hygiene and its application in mining (including knowledge of occupational hygiene equipment operation) * Occupational health regulation surveillance and auditing (metals and metalloids) * Management and operation of polyclinics at mining sites * Design of occupational health and well-being plans (quality of life) * Proficiency in MS Office tools. * Experience with incident and health management platforms. * Class B driver’s license. * Intermediate English proficiency (desirable) **Position Information** * **Department:** Occupational Safety and Health * **Reports To:** Superintendent of Occupational Safety and Health * **Work Location:** Salares Norte Mine Site, Atacama Region * **High-Altitude Work:** Yes **Application Deadline: March 22, 2026** Gold Fields offers a challenging learning environment to unlock people’s full potential, grounded in an inclusive work culture, diverse teams, and respectful environments.
