**Objective**

The Social Intervention Technician for Older Adults is responsible for developing and implementing actions that promote the inclusion, well-being, and autonomy of older adults participating in the programs of the Santa María la Real Foundation, with special attention to those in situations of vulnerability. Their work focuses on direct intervention—facilitating social interaction spaces, encouraging participation, and strengthening support networks—with the aim of improving quality of life through strategies tailored to individuals’ personal and community needs.
Functions and Responsibilities
1. Needs Assessment: Conduct individual and group assessments of the social, emotional, and cognitive needs of older adults participating in the Foundation’s programs to design personalized intervention plans.
2. Program Implementation: Plan, execute, and coordinate social integration activities for older adults.
3. Group Intervention: Facilitate group support dynamics, workshops, and group activities that foster social interaction, personal development, and the creation of peer support networks among older adults to combat unwanted loneliness and prevent institutionalization.
4. Coordination with Other Professionals: Collaborate closely with other professionals—including social workers, psychologists, and socio-health staff—to ensure a comprehensive, integrated approach to intervention with older adults.
5. Promotion of Autonomy: Foster older adults’ independence by providing them with the tools and support necessary to make informed decisions about their lives and environments.
6. Project Management: Participate in the management and evaluation of the Foundation’s social inclusion projects, ensuring achievement of established objectives and proposing improvements to intervention processes. Preparation of reports and document management.
7. Awareness-Raising and Training: Develop awareness-raising and training initiatives targeting the community on the rights and needs of older adults, promoting an active and inclusive aging approach.
**Profile:**
Qualification in Social Work, Social Education, Social Integration Technician, or related fields.
* Experience in social intervention with older adults or vulnerable groups.
* Knowledge of legislation and available social resources for older adults.
* Interpersonal communication skills, active listening, and ability to work collaboratively in teams.
* Orientation toward community-based work and improvement of older adults’ quality of life.
* Commitment to social inclusion and promotion of older adults’ autonomy.
Valued Competencies
* Additional training in active aging, dependency care, or related areas.
* Knowledge of social project management and use of digital tools for social intervention.
* Ability to design and deliver training content.
* Capacity to identify and address situations of unwanted loneliness and social exclusion among older adults.
