One of our top-tier clients on the island is seeking to hire a Backend Technical Lead for their development team. The role's objective is to ensure backend systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable, while coordinating with other teams (e.g., frontend, DevOps, product management) to meet project requirements.
**Key responsibilities include:**
* Leading development teams.
* Deeply understanding functional and non-functional requirements to deliver outstanding technical implementations.
* Possessing in-depth, detailed knowledge of the technology stacks used in their projects.
* Staying current with the latest trends in architecture and technologies related to development.
* Auditing proper implementation of the client's designated architectural guidelines.
* Reviewing code and ensuring project quality.
* Making sound and efficient technical decisions.
* Analyzing potential scenarios to anticipate future technical issues.
* Performing comprehensive planning of technology projects aligned with strategic objectives of software development initiatives.
* Breaking down functional requirements into technical tasks.
* Analyzing and prioritizing technical requirements.
* Understanding third-party written software.
* Proposing technical improvements.
* Mentoring the team under their supervision in technical matters.
* Leading technical meetings with clients.
* Taking ownership of the full development lifecycle—from design through production deployment and operations.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
* Minimum 7 years of experience in the described role.
* In-depth expertise in Java is mandatory.
* Proficiency in other programming languages—such as Groovy, JavaScript, Go, or Python—is a plus.
* In-depth knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases.
* Experience with event-driven architectures.
* Knowledge of design patterns and scalable, highly available microservice architectures.
* Familiarity with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or private platforms (OpenShift).
* Continuous integration (CI/CD) tools.
* Knowledge of backend development security best practices.
* Experience using observability tools such as Grafana or Zipkin.
* Backend frameworks: Spring Boot (Java), Spring, J2EE.
* Reactive programming: Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux.
* Other programming languages: Groovy, Go, JavaScript.
* Knowledge of event-oriented architecture tools: Kafka, JMS.
* Databases: SQL, MongoDB, CouchBase, Redis.
* Version control: Git.
* QA: JUnit, mock libraries, WireMock, Test Containers.
* CI/CD tools: CI/CD pipelines, branching models.
* Observability: Grafana, Zipkin, Datadog, or similar tools.
