Position Summary: We are seeking a systems administration professional focused on Linux, NGINX, and Java middleware to resolve complex issues and automate tasks within a critical environment. Key Highlights: 1. Production Linux experience, NGINX as reverse proxy and load balancer. 2. We work with organizations that cannot afford downtime, excuses, or "we’ll look into it tomorrow." **What are we looking for?** Someone who enjoys fine-tuning NGINX—shaving seconds off response times or hunting down an SSL/TLS issue that only appears under load. Specifically, someone who: * Has spent at least 3 years working hands-on (and building rapport) with production Linux, preferably RHEL. * Has used NGINX in practice as a reverse proxy and load balancer—not merely to serve a landing page. Virtual hosts, headers, routing, certificates—the full suite. * Can trace an HTTP request’s journey: from NGINX, through API layers, to backend Java services—and identify where it breaks (timeouts, 4xx/5xx errors, connectivity issues, SSL/TLS problems). * Automates proactively, not just upon request: Ansible, Bash/Shell, recurring tasks converted into reusable playbooks. * Is accustomed to N2/N3 support, where problems arrive unfiltered and require structured, analytical thinking. **What will your day-to-day look like?** Your operational domain will be a fully on-premise architecture built on Linux RHEL, with NGINX as the entry point and a Java middleware stack supporting critical applications: * Tuning an NGINX configuration so a new service enters rotation without impacting other services. * Defining advanced routing, certificates, and headers for a new domain passing through the API layer before reaching the backend. * Investigating why certain requests begin slowing down: reviewing logs, response times, system metrics, and proposing configuration changes. * Using Ansible to deploy coordinated changes across DEV, PRE, and PRO environments—avoiding “it worked on my machine” surprises. * Participating in production rollouts where your input carries weight in decisions about how and when changes are implemented. * Documenting your tuning efforts so the team can reuse them—reducing black magic and increasing shared knowledge.
