This position focuses on the comprehensive management of accounting and tax processes within an international context. The professional will be responsible for managing, preparing, and filing all international tax obligations, including Value Added Tax (VAT) and Personal Income Tax (IRPF), ensuring strict regulatory compliance across different jurisdictions. A core part of the role involves maintaining and overseeing the operational journal, meticulously recording all transactions to produce clear documentation that prevents recurring questions and optimizes the department’s time management. The accountant will be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvements to accounting processes, contributing valuable insights drawn from experience in international accounting. This function entails fluent and ongoing communication with the company’s external tax advisors to consult on complex transactions and resolve any technical queries that arise, thereby guaranteeing the accuracy and reliability of all financial information. Additionally, handling the Administrative Single Document (DUA) forms part of the key daily responsibilities. The initial office working hours in Vigo vary by season: during summer, they run from 08:00 to 15:30 until August 31; during winter, a split schedule applies — 08:00 to 14:00 and 14:40 to 17:00 — with reduced Friday hours ending at 15:00\. For assignments in Portugal, the overall working hours are similar but include a longer midday break, concluding around 18:00. A minimum of two years’ prior experience in international accounting environments is required and considered essential to drive process improvements. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and advanced proficiency in the Libra software are mandatory. Expert-level Excel skills are also required, including creation of pivot tables, use of complex formulas, and preparation of reports. Mobility for temporary work in Monçao, Portugal, is an advantage.
