In Spain, the organization operates within a context shaped by energy market transformation, the transition toward lower-carbon models, and the emergence of new opportunities linked to alternative fuels and energy solutions.
Joining this environment will allow you to understand how an international energy company analyzes future market developments, identifies trends and business opportunities, and uses information and analytical tools to support its planning processes.
The experience will have an international dimension, with exposure to energy market and trend analysis in **Spain, Portugal and France**, enabling comprehension of sectoral transformation dynamics from a regional perspective.
About the ST\&S – RS\&M area
The intern will join the **ST\&S – RS\&M** area, collaborating with the **Mid\-Term Planning** team within the Supply, Trading and Shipping business.
During the internship, you will learn how future market trends and related opportunities are analyzed — both for **new energy solutions and lower-carbon fuels — such as hydrogen, biofuels and electric mobility — and for conventional fuels**.
The internship will enable understanding of how market information is collected and structured, how competitors, technologies, regulations and sectoral trends are analyzed, and how these elements are integrated into analytical and planning exercises.
Additionally, the intern will become familiar with analytical models, databases and digital tools used to structure information and support market and business evaluations.
Training plan and activities
Always under the guidance and supervision of the team, the intern will have the opportunity to:
* Learn how to conduct **market and competitor analysis**, using sector reports, public databases and digital tools.
* Become familiar with methodologies for identifying and analyzing **future energy market trends**.
* Monitor the evolution of **technologies related to the energy transition, regulation and market trends**.
* Deepen knowledge of areas such as **hydrogen, biofuels, electric mobility and conventional fuels**.
* Collaborate in **strategic analysis and business planning activities**, understanding how necessary information is structured for these processes.
* Develop capabilities to perform analyses and calculations applied to **market evaluations and business opportunity assessments**.
* Learn to work with **analytical models and databases**, contributing to their maintenance and organization.
* Participate in preparing **presentations, summaries and supporting materials**, developing the ability to synthesize complex information clearly and structurally.
* Develop competencies in **Excel, Power BI and other analytical tools**, applying them to information processing and visualization.
* Become familiar with tools such as **ThinkCell**, for structured preparation and presentation of information.

Training objectives linked to the DEEP Program will be established, and individualized progress tracking will be conducted. The intern will receive guidance and feedback to progressively strengthen competencies in market analysis, planning, digital tools, data handling and information communication.
Activities related to strategic analysis, business planning, market evaluation and opportunity assessment will always be **training-oriented and supervised**. Commercial, strategic and business decisions remain the responsibility of BP professionals.
Candidate profile
**Eligible degrees:**
* Engineering.
* Economics.
* Data Analytics / Business Analytics.
* Data Science.
* Business Administration and Management and other related degrees with a strong quantitative or analytical orientation.
**Valued competencies and knowledge:**

* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
