Due to strong growth in our Building | WSP division, we are seeking to hire an Industrial Engineer (mechanical or energy specialization) or equivalent qualification for our Data Centers | WSP team in Madrid to lead the design and coordination of mechanical installations (HVAC, plumbing, sanitation, and fire protection) in Data Center projects (hyperscale, colocation, and edge) and other critical facilities.
**What will you do with us?**
Among your key responsibilities will be providing technical leadership for the mechanical installations discipline in Data Center and critical facility projects, participating in all project phases—from conceptual design through to execution. You will be responsible for defining design criteria, supervising calculations and technical deliverables, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and established quality standards.
You will also coordinate multidisciplinary teams of engineers and modelers, collaborating closely with other disciplines, clients, partner engineering firms, contractors, and suppliers. Additionally, you will contribute to preparing technical and economic proposals, provide support during project execution, and support team development through mentoring and knowledge transfer.
**What are we looking for in you?**
We seek a professional holding a degree in Industrial Engineering (mechanical or energy specialization), Energy Engineering, or a related field, with over 10 years of experience in designing and coordinating mechanical installations (HVAC, plumbing, sanitation, and fire protection systems) for singular buildings, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects. Experience leading engineering and BIM modeling teams, as well as coordinating disciplines, managing deliverables, and interfacing with clients on complex projects, will be highly valued.
Relevant experience in designing climate control, plumbing, sanitation, and fire protection systems—as well as familiarity with applicable regulations and calculation and modeling tools—is essential. A C1 level in both Spanish and English, plus willingness to travel, is required.
Experience in Data Center projects, participation in international projects, technical or project management certifications, and knowledge of German or French will be especially valued.
