This has enabled us to obtain the **Top Employer 2026** certification, renewing this distinction for the **third consecutive year**. **\#WeAreBalearia \#TopEmployer** We are opening a vacancy to hire a **First Officer of the Engine Department** onboard our vessels—and we want you to be part of our team! ### **What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?** The selected candidate will be responsible for: * Coordinating and supervising, under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the activities of the **Engine Department**, particularly those directly affecting vessel operability. * Collaborating in the **implementation and monitoring** of the Safety Management Manual, ensuring its correct application within the Engine Department. * Identifying technical incidents, reporting them, and proposing **improvements and corrective actions** that enhance efficiency, productivity, sustainability, and proper vessel operability. * Coordinating and supervising **preventive and corrective maintenance** activities carried out both onboard and by external workshops, acting as liaison support between the Engine Department and technical services. * Monitoring and controlling the **operational parameters and running hours** of various equipment in the Engine Department. * Assisting in completing the **engine logbook**, recording significant events, consumptions, and technical incidents. * Supervising compliance with **working schedules, duties, and use of PPE** (footwear, gloves, etc.) by Engine Department personnel, promoting a safe working environment. ### **What Do We Offer You?** At Baleària, we value and care for our team. REQUIREMENTS * Valid seafarer’s discharge book * MLC Medical Certificate * Unrestricted Merchant Marine Professional License for Engine Officers * Passenger Ships (STCW A\-V/2\) * Basic Maritime Security Training (STCW A\-VI/6\) * Basic Safety Training (STCW A\-VI/1\-1\-2\-3\-4\) * Advanced Firefighting (STCW A\-VI/3\) * Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than fast rescue boats) (STCW A\-VI/2\-1\) * Elementary First Aid (STCW A\-VI/4\-1\) (FORMAC II)
