Job Summary: We are seeking mid- and senior-level Data Engineers to modernize data platforms, build scalable pipelines, and evolve ETL processes within a Databricks Lakehouse environment for the retail sector. Collaboration in the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines. At Almato Iberia, we are looking for **4 Data Engineers** — mid-level (3\-5 years of experience) and senior-level (\+5 years of experience) — to join a team working on a retail-sector project requiring a high level of English proficiency. You will participate in modernizing their data platform, building scalable pipelines, and evolving ETL processes within a Databricks Lakehouse environment. You will work autonomously in specific domains (e.g., coupons or customer data), collaborating with a Product Owner who serves as the liaison with business stakeholders. **Responsibilities:** * Design, develop, and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines. * Modernize and enhance existing ETL processes by implementing incremental loads and scalable flows. * Model data following the Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold). * Manage data within the Databricks Lakehouse ecosystem: Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and environment-specific standards. * Ensure data quality, governance, and consistency within assigned domains. * Document processes and prepare smooth knowledge transfer to the client’s internal team. * Collaborate with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical solutions. * Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices in development, CI/CD, and version control. **Mandatory Requirements:** * Proven experience with Databricks: Lakehouse Architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog * Strong Python (PySpark) expertise * Proficiency in Spark SQL * Experience with batch and streaming pipelines * Design of incremental loads and robust ETL processes * Medallion Architecture modeling * Git and CI/CD pipeline management * Ability to work autonomously and results-oriented * High level of English (C1\) **Desirable Requirements:** * Experience with Microsoft Azure data services * Knowledge of data architecture * Prior experience in distributed / nearshore teams * German (communication level) **Salary:** * Depending on experience and technical background, we offer a starting salary from €30K. **What We Offer:** * Permanent employment contract. * Innovative projects and ample opportunities for continuous training and professional growth (Udemy courses and certifications). * 100% remote work in Spain, with the option of hybrid work at our offices located in the 22@ district (Barcelona). * Complimentary beverages including coffee, water, herbal teas, and juices, plus a weekly fruit service from Casa Ametller and a variety of snacks available in the office. * Excellent work-life balance with flexible working hours. * Optional private health insurance. * Referral bonus. * Employee benefits in collaboration with Banco Sabadell. * Access to a corporate benefits program offering discounts across multiple renowned brands, establishments, and leisure activities. * Madrid, Spain * Permanent * 2–10 years of experience * 0 * 0 ()
