Responsibilities * Lead the development of a component library in React DOM and React Native * Define the technical architecture of the Design System (monorepo, npm packages, versioning strategy, etc.) * Implement and maintain Design Tokens and theming systems * Document components using Storybook * Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG, ARIA, semantic HTML) * Maintain visual and functional consistency across web and mobile platforms * Conduct code reviews and define quality standards * Collaborate with designers on technical handoffs and UI validation * Optimize performance and scalability of components * Define testing strategies (unit tests, visual regression, etc.) * Mentor mid\-level developers and support team growth Requirements * 5\+ years of Frontend development experience * Proven experience building or maintaining Design Systems * Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript * Experience with React Native * Hands\-on experience with Storybook * Deep understanding of Design Tokens * Advanced Git knowledge * Solid accessibility knowledge (WCAG, ARIA, semantic HTML) * Experience collaborating with design teams Nice to Have * Experience with Next.js or Expo * Knowledge of Headless Architectures * Testing frameworks (Jest, Testing Library, Playwright, Chromatic, etc.) * Experience with monorepos (Nx, Turborepo, Lerna) * Experience in fintech or enterprise environments * CI/CD pipelines knowledge North is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
