Salary Negotiable depending on profile Contract type Permanent after probation period Contract duration Permanent Description For a major expanding food business group, we are seeking an R\+D\+I DIRECTOR. The main responsibilities include leading the strategy and execution of research, development, and innovation activities, as well as leading and driving the continuous improvement program for processes, products, and management systems, aiming to enhance competitiveness, ensure food safety, optimize resources, and promote sustainability. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead and manage the human team in R\+D\+I and continuous improvement, keeping them motivated and committed to the organization. - Define and execute the strategic plan for R\+D\+I and continuous improvement aligned with organizational objectives. - Define, generate, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for innovation and efficiency projects. - Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, new raw materials, and auxiliary materials applicable to the organization. - Lead, promote, and participate in projects for the development of new food products through clear planning of objectives and testing timelines, analysis of results, reformulation, prototype presentation, and reporting of results and conclusions. - Lead, promote, and participate in projects to improve the existing product portfolio through substitution of raw materials, determination of minimum dosage for technological application of ingredients, formulation, and/or adaptation of foods to specific consumer/customer needs. - Lead, promote, and execute process improvement projects from both final product quality and food safety perspectives, as well as production process efficiency (reduced waste, lower energy consumption, etc.). - Lead and participate in the design and implementation of new production processes. - Ensure all projects meet internal, legal, and customer requirements regarding quality, food safety, and sustainability. - Supervise and participate in weekly and comparative product tastings. - Verify specifications of developed products: raw materials, production processes, quality and safety conditions, etc. - Verify technical sheets of created and/or optimized products. - Supervise the approval process for new raw materials, auxiliary materials, and additives. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, or similar) to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. - Propose and develop implementation techniques for new products, as well as continuous improvements for current products, according to quality control criteria and production line specifications. - Participate in managing public funding projects and collaborations with technology centers, universities, and external partners. Publication date 10/09/2025 Requirements Education Food Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field. Desirable Requirements Essential - Advanced university degree in Food Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field. Additional training in project management, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or similar will be valued. - Fluent spoken and written Catalan and Spanish - Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role or with similar responsibilities in the food industry or in an engineering, design, and development company for food products for the food sector - Proficiency in office software - Valid driver's license and personal vehicle - Availability for occasional travel Other Requirements PREFERRED - Knowledge of technologies for food processing and preservation, formulation of food products, and industrial manufacturing processes for food products - Residence in the region of La Selva or neighboring regions WE OFFER - Opportunity to join an expanding industrial group - Salary negotiable according to profile
