Opportunity for professional development in geriatrics We offer a vacant nursing position at a residential care facility: 20 hours per week, morning shifts and rotating weekends. Our care model focuses on promoting user autonomy. Within this context, the nurse plays a fundamental role by assessing and planning care to mitigate users’ functional and cognitive dependency. Case management and interdisciplinary intervention are included among nursing competencies, to be carried out jointly with other professionals in delivering user care. Additionally, the nurse performs nursing-specific procedures such as laboratory test monitoring, pressure ulcer and other wound dressings, and clinical follow-up within the geriatric field—enabling the nursing professional to gain experience across a diverse range of pathological conditions. All of this is conducted from a perspective of prevention and continuous care—from the user’s health decompensation through to its resolution—with the residential facility nurse actively participating in and witnessing both stages.
