Position Summary: We are seeking a technical consultant to develop and validate methods for mapping and monitoring benthic ecosystems using multispectral satellite data. Key Points: 1. Processing and analysis of large volumes of satellite imagery We seek a technical consultant for a project focused on the remote sensing group. Tasks will include developing and validating methods for mapping and monitoring benthic ecosystems using multispectral satellite data. Advanced techniques in atmospheric correction, spectral unmixing, and bio-optical models will be applied to derive useful information in shallow waters. Procedures for identifying and characterizing coral communities will also be designed and evaluated, integrating satellite observations, ecological data, and field data to improve mapping accuracy. The work involves processing and analyzing large volumes of satellite imagery and automating workflows. Preparation of reports, maps, and dissemination materials is required. Experience in remote sensing, GIS, or geographic information technologies is desirable. This is a temporary full-time contract for 12 months, with working hours from Monday to Thursday: 8:30–14:00 and 15:00–18:00, and Fridays: 8:30–14:30. The gross monthly salary is 2198,29 euros, paid in 12 installments.
