Job Summary:
OCA Global is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the new Waste Control Entity (EC-RES) in Catalonia, building and consolidating a growing project.
Key Highlights:
1. Leadership and consolidation of a new waste control entity
2. High autonomy and strategic decision-making capacity
3. Dynamic team culture and continuous learning
### **Are you passionate about the environment and looking for a project where your technical expertise transforms into real leadership?**
At **OCA Global**, our purpose is clear: to work every day toward building a safer, more efficient, and sustainable world. To achieve this, we need people who not only master regulatory frameworks but also feel responsible for being drivers of change.
We are seeking a **Waste Area Technical Manager** to lead and consolidate the new Waste Control Entity (EC\-RES) in Catalonia, based out of our offices in Sant Cugat del Vallès. This is a newly created role arising from the growth of our Environmental line; here, you won’t follow a pre-defined path—you’ll build it, backed by an established group while retaining the agility, freshness, and flat structure that define us.
### **Purpose-Driven and Impactful Missions: Your Day-to-Day**
Rather than a monotonous list of tasks, these will be your key missions on the project:
* **Team Coordination:** Lead, plan, and supervise fieldwork performed by the department, mentoring and training junior technicians.
* **Waste Sampling:** Collect samples of various waste types (solid, liquid, and semi-solid) to classify their hazardousness and determine appropriate management methods.
* **Landfill Environmental Monitoring:** Collect water (groundwater and surface water) and leachate samples from controlled landfills.
* **Field Measurements:** Conduct analyses and verifications directly on-site (e.g., measuring temperature, pH, or groundwater levels), ensuring data reliability.
* **Equipment and Quality Management:** Ensure proper use and maintenance of measurement equipment, draft visit reports and minutes, and guarantee samples are stored and transported to the laboratory under optimal conditions.
### **What We’d Like to See in Your Profile**
We don’t view requirements as barriers, but rather as the tools and knowledge you’ll need to succeed in your role from day one:
* **Mandatory Accreditation/Experience:** Being a certified technician already qualified in the waste sector (MOS and/or MOS\-DC).
* **Education:** Minimum qualification as a Technician (Medium-Level Vocational Training Cycle \- CFGM). A Higher-Level Vocational Training Cycle (CFGS) or a university degree in a scientific/technical field is highly valued.
* **Desirable:** Being an EC\-RES accredited technician by OA
* **Sector Experience (>1 year):** Proven experience in environmental inspection, consultancy, or waste management within Catalonia’s territorial scope. You must know the local terrain, stakeholders, and specific procedures of the Catalan market.
* **Knowledge of Catalan Regulatory Framework:** Proficiency in decrees and resolutions governing Waste Control Entities (EC\-RES) in Catalonia. This is essential, as your technical decisions and reports must strictly comply with administrative requirements.
* **Institutional Relationship Skills and Autonomy:** Ability to engage with administrative technicians and plant directors. You’ll enjoy significant freedom to organize your work and make strategic decisions—proactivity and a solution-oriented mindset will be your greatest allies.
### **Why Join Our Project?**
* **Real Space to Innovate:** You’ll join a flat, dynamic structure where decision-making is fast and non-bureaucratic. We believe in empowerment and will give you the freedom to manage your department.
* **Team Culture and Continuous Learning:** You’ll integrate into a young, energetic, and highly motivated team. We work at an intense and exciting pace ("rock \& roll"), always supporting each other—you’ll be surrounded by excellent professionals with whom you’ll refine your role daily.
* **Stability and Career Growth:** As this is a newly created position within an internationally expanding company, medium- and long-term development opportunities are real and tangible.
### **Valuing Your Time:**
We understand that delivering your best at work requires genuine balance with personal life. That’s why we offer a working schedule designed for well-being:
* **Standard Schedule (Monday–Thursday):** 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM (with flexible hours agreed upon based on service needs).
* **Friday on Wheels:** Every Friday throughout the year features a **compressed workday from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM**, allowing you to disconnect much earlier.
* **Summer and Holiday Work-Life Balance:** You’ll enjoy a **compressed workday (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) throughout July, August, and on all days preceding public holidays**.
* **Full Disconnection Days:** **December 24 and 31 are fully free days** for our entire team, enabling you to enjoy them with loved ones without using vacation days.
### **Shall We Talk?**
If you feel this challenge aligns with what you’re seeking and want to leave your mark in the environmental sector, we’d love to meet you. We’re not looking for a perfect CV—we’re looking for the right professional eager to lead.
