Here, you are valued, accepted, and respected for who you are—creating an environment where you can grow both personally and professionally. Together, we aim to prevent, halt, and cure diseases and ensure that everyone has access to healthcare—today and in the future. Join Roche, where every voice matters. The Position As an Engineer PMQ, you will handle complaints regarding the quality and product performance of Digital Solutions, including Hospital/Laboratory Information Systems (HIS/LIS), medical data networks, middleware solutions, data communication, and application algorithms. As a member of the Digital Solutions Chapter, you will work in a highly cross-functional software environment, with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technologies and diverse programming languages for on-premise and cloud-based software. You must be able to read and understand source code to identify root causes or causal factors of software malfunctions/issues, and also learn about software requirements, bug-fixing processes (even if you do not perform fixes yourself), and general code maintenance—all within an Agile environment where you can contribute your own ideas and proposals as part of a continuously improving team. **Your main responsibilities:** * You will be accountable for the timely handling of individual cases (Inquiries, Complaints, Potential Reportable and Safety issues) in accordance with ISO Quality System requirements and regulations, and the needs of Country Organizations—including case creation, acceptance, classification, investigation, complete documentation, on-site troubleshooting, and resolution. * Resolving cases within your assigned area, potentially requiring consultation with more senior team members on technical or process-related aspects. * Assuming responsibility—through collaboration and interface with Business Analysts (BA) and global and/or local functions—to ensure appropriate measures are derived from cases in a timely manner, including but not limited to workarounds. * Providing audit and inspection support as requested, and contributing to the creation of regular reports documenting post-market product quality and performance, escalating critical issues to the responsible Life Cycle Teams, and defining proactive measures. * Supporting regular reviews of case-handling quality and analyzing customer satisfaction feedback to continuously optimize processes, thereby increasing quality and efficiency standards—with a focus on customers, compliance, and continuous improvement. **Who you are:** * You hold a university degree in Information Technology (IT) or Biomedical Engineering, or a degree from a Professional Education and Training College (Higher Technical School), or possess equivalent professional experience—or have successfully completed vocational training in Information Technology or Biomedical Engineering. * You have over two years of work experience in information technology, either in 1st- or 2nd-level support or in R&D-related functions. * You possess strong English communication skills (written and spoken). * You are able to read and understand source code in at least one programming language—and you are passionate about clean, structured code and robust, future-proof architectures, keeping testing strategies in mind. * You are capable of debugging source code written in various programming languages to understand the root cause of reported issues. Desirable additional qualifications: knowledge of other database engines; knowledge of IVD regulatory requirements and quality practices, especially in complaint management (e.g., 21 CFR 820.198, ISO 10002, ISO 9001, ISO 13485). At Roche, we are passionate about transforming patients’ lives, and we act boldly—in both decision-making and action. We believe that good business means a better world.
