Guide data engineering and analytics teams in designing scalable data pipelines Cognizant DATA & AI is seeking an experienced and strategic **Data Technical Manager** to lead our data initiatives, oversee our cloud data infrastructure, and manage cross-functional data projects. In this role, you will be the bridge between technical execution and business strategy. You will own the end-to-end delivery of data solutions utilizing **Snowflake, AWS, and Azure**, while applying strong **Project Management** methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. **Key Responsibilities** **Data Strategy & Cloud Architecture** * **Technical Leadership:** Guide the data engineering and analytics teams in designing scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling best practices. * **Vendor & Resource Management:** Manage relationships with cloud service providers and evaluate new tools to enhance the modern data stack. **Project & Team Management** * **End-to-End Project Delivery:** Act as the primary project manager for all data initiatives, leading projects from initial scoping and requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance. * **Stakeholder Communication:** Translate complex technical data concepts into actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership. * **Resource Allocation:** Manage project timelines, assign tasks to data engineers and analysts, and mitigate risks or roadblocks during the project lifecycle. **Required Qualifications** * **Experience:** 8+ years of experience in data management, data engineering, or a closely related technical field, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or project management role. * **Cloud Platforms:** Proven hands-on experience managing data ecosystems within **AWS** (e.g., S3, Glue, RDS) and **Microsoft Azure** (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage). * **Data Warehousing:** Deep expertise in **Snowflake/Databricks** architecture, compute optimization, role-based access control (RBAC), and data sharing. * **Languages:** Proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of Python or other scripting languages used in data engineering. **Preferred Qualifications** * Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google * Experience with BI/Visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
