It also involves defining, implementing, and enforcing observability-related standards, governance, and foundational technical practices across various platforms. Objectives and Deliverables **Key Responsibilities and Activities:** Lead the migration of monitoring tools from Splunk to New Relic Design and implement New Relic governance (account structure, tagging, alerts, dashboards, SLOs) Define and promote observability best practices within engineering teams Implement observability capabilities (logs, APM, infrastructure, tracing, synthetics, integrations) Collaborate with application teams for service integration and instrumentation Automate observability configurations using Terraform and integrate them into CI/CD workflows via GitHub Provide technical expertise on Azure, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and observability practices Align monitoring and alerts with SLIs/SLOs Support continuous improvement of operations, reliability, performance, and security **Candidate Profile:** Required Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in the field. Essential Skills / Knowledge Strong hands-on experience with New Relic, including dashboard creation, alert configuration, APM management, infrastructure monitoring, log management, distributed tracing, synthetics, and performance optimization. Experience with Terraform, particularly modular Infrastructure as Code (IaC) design, provisioning, state management, and automation. Experience with Azure Cloud, covering resource management, networking, IAM, governance, and cost control. Proficiency in GitHub, including GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflows, repository governance, and security features. Experience in observability practices, integrating log management, APM, infrastructure monitoring, distributed tracing, synthetics, and integrations. Ability to define monitoring strategies aligned with SLIs and SLOs. Desired Experience / Skills Experience with Splunk, including log pipeline design, dashboard creation, and alert configuration. Experience with SonarCloud, including automated code analysis and rule management. Knowledge of Open Policy Frameworks (OPA, Conftest) for policy-as-code implementation. Experience with Kubernetes, covering deployments, troubleshooting, and Helm usage. Required Skills
