Key job responsibilities Apprenticeship Program: We offer you a unique opportunity to train while gaining professional experience through a two-year program, enabling you to earn the official Master’s Degree in Industry 4.0 from Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena and acquire the professional experience required to join our RME (Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering) teams at our logistics centers. The program structure is as follows: * You will complete the Master’s Degree in Industry 4.0 offered by Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena; you can consult its website via the following link: https://estudios.upct.es/master/2491/inicio . It will be delivered in a work-study format, meaning your work schedule will be adjusted to accommodate both class time and self-study hours alongside professional experience hours. * You will receive additional training in areas such as Occupational Health and Safety, English, and technical supplements (PLCs, etc.). * You will undertake your work-study training by learning the profession on-site at the logistics center to which you applied. During these phases, you will work scheduled shifts aligned with your academic timetable. * Throughout the program, you will be supported by a mentor who will guide you successfully through both your academic institution and our logistics centers, and you will be able to complete your Master’s Thesis (TFM) on a practical topic within our logistics centers and see the applied results. During the apprenticeship program, you will work toward achieving the following objectives: * Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, and understand and develop strategies to improve code in accordance with IEC 61131\-3\. * Practice hands-on active monitoring to identify failures and repair systems, ensuring high equipment availability for our internal customers. * Train technical team members on fundamental concepts of fault detection in control systems to elevate site-level knowledge. * Work within the EU Control Network to enhance the capability to monitor MHE (Material Handling Equipment) metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers through prioritization and problem resolution. * Actively participate in or lead continuous improvement projects coordinated by the EU Control Network. * Achieve SME (Subject Matter Expert) level proficiency across all control systems and sensors within the facility. * Collaborate with IT, Controls Engineering, and EU Operations Engineering teams to ensure all systems are properly documented and an accurate, up-to-date support library is maintained. * Work alongside global teams to support installation and commissioning of new equipment. * Support other centers within the EU network as needed. Apprenticeship Program Structure: You will sign a work-study training contract allowing you to alternate your studies with professional experience over two years (the Master’s curriculum will be structured to be completed within two years). You will begin the apprenticeship program in late August 2026, studying the Master’s Degree in Industry 4.0 at Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena in a work-study format (classes will be integrated into your working hours), where you will acquire all foundational knowledge of this profession and apply it directly at our logistics centers. Throughout the program, you will receive ongoing support from your assigned mentor at the logistics center, and also receive necessary technical guidance from Amazon professionals to ensure effective knowledge transfer and acquisition of skills specific to our technologies. At the logistics centers, you will immerse yourself in this profession by spending time alongside our teams, experiencing daily tasks under the supervision and guidance of a mentor from our professional team. Once you successfully complete and graduate from the Master’s program, we hope you’ll continue your journey with us and apply for one of the available Automation Engineering positions at our logistics centers. To do so, you must meet the eligibility requirements to enroll. * You possess a minimum English language proficiency level of B2\. * You are available for full-time commitment to the program, bearing in mind that the training component requires full-time participation. * You are committed to learning, developing, and engaging fully throughout the entire program duration (2 years). * You are passionate about automation, robotics, and highly automated processes and intend to build your professional career in this field. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- * Experience with PLCs, SCADA, industrial robots, and automated systems. * Skills in electrical engineering, electronics, robotics, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics. * Experience in industrial systems. * Programming skills. * Prior professional experience, preferably in industrial maintenance or process configuration (not mandatory).
