Our technical team ensures that Wajers remain in excellent technical condition during the busy sailing season. Our captains & deckhands are responsible for cleaning, refueling, restocking refrigerators, covering boats, and planning sailing trips. **What will you do?** Together with a team (mostly Dutch) colleagues, you’ll work at one of our service hubs in Southern France or Spain, aiming to fully relieve our clients of any concerns. As part of the Summer Crew, you’ll be responsible for cleaning and operating the yachts, both for owners and charter guests. You might also become the dedicated captain for one of our clients during the season. In addition to taking care of our Wajers, you’ll naturally maintain cleanliness in apartments and vehicles, and act respectfully toward others and the environment. At the start of the day, your manager will inform you about your tasks. If you’re scheduled to sail, you’ll receive details about which yacht, who you’ll be sailing with, and departure time. You’ll then check that everything is onboard—from fuel to clean towels—and ensure the fridge is stocked with your guest’s favorite drinks. During the day, you’ll safely transport your guests from A to B, show them the most beautiful bays nearby, and make sure they enjoy an amazing day on the water! Working in the Summer Crew is much more than just sailing. Pouring drinks, performing technical checks, thoroughly cleaning and tidying the yacht, lifting water toys in and out of the water—it’s all part of the job! At the end of the day, you’ll return the Wajer to its home port, clean the entire vessel from top to bottom, and report any required technical work via the Wajer app to our Service Engineers. Please note that you won’t sail every day. This depends entirely on your experience level, the number of planned trips, and weather conditions. On non-sailing days, you’ll be assigned other tasks such as organizing the warehouse, office, and shared spaces, doing shopping, or handling administrative work. In addition to daily duties, you may be asked to assist with various (client) events and boat shows (Cannes & Monaco). *This vacancy is focused on staffing our service hubs in Spain and Southern France. If you prefer to work in the Netherlands (Amsterdam hub), please explicitly state this in your application.* **What do you bring?** Besides a great passion for boats and watersports, we’re looking for candidates with strong responsibility and technical insight. You understand what it means to operate a luxury yacht with guests—you are responsible for onboard safety. You have an eye for quality and efficiency in your work and will never leave anything to chance. *Additionally, you have:* * Preferably completed MBO or HBO education; * Strong technical understanding, preferably with hands-on technical experience (as a hobby, study, or work); * Dutch Small Vessel License I and II + experience operating fast motorboats – if you do not hold these licenses by the closing date of this vacancy, we cannot process your application. This also applies if exams are still pending; * Minimum availability of 8 consecutive weeks. We prefer candidates available for the entire season (April to October); * Good command of English and Dutch. Speaking Spanish, French, or German is a definite advantage; * Driver’s license B. Due to lengthy work and residence permit application procedures in France and Spain, we are specifically seeking EU candidates for the 2026 season. **What can you expect?** You’ll live together with the team in Wajer-provided accommodation (shared rooms), meaning you’ll be closely connected 24/7 for several weeks. Therefore, we’re looking for true team players! Besides an incredibly educational adventure, you’ll work alongside great colleagues and build lasting friendships. You’ll be part of a young yet professional team from which you can learn a lot. *Additionally:* * A fixed gross monthly salary between €2,348 and €2,608; * Wajer-facilitated housing in Southern France or Spain; * A freshly prepared evening meal from Monday to Friday; * Daily interaction with our beautiful yachts. Working for Wajer in the Summer Crew can be a great stepping stone towards a further career at Wajer. At the end of the season, we offer our most talented individuals the opportunity to apply for the Wajer Care Talent Pool—a program offering full-time employment with personal coaching and intensive training to prepare you for a professional career at Wajer. **The application procedure** As part of your application, you’ll submit a video pitch creatively introducing yourself. Additionally, we’ll ask you some preliminary questions, for example about your sailing experience and availability. To ensure smooth integration into the hubs, we work with fixed intake moments. During your application, you’ll indicate which intake moment suits you best and until when you’re available. The initial screening will be based on your CV, video pitch, sailing experience (including licenses), and availability. If successful, you’ll be invited for an interview in Amsterdam or Heeg. Interviews will take place between 24 November and 12 December 2025. After a successful application process, we’ll begin our (mandatory) Wajer Summer Crew Academy. This includes Powerboat Level 2 (including Commercial Endorsement), comprehensive training on our yachts, technical knowledge, etiquette, and other practical matters. Attendance at all parts of the Wajer Summer Crew Academy is mandatory. The academy takes place on the dates listed below. If you’re unavailable on one or more of these dates, we regretfully cannot proceed with your application. **Practical days Summer Crew Academy dates** Hospitality & Communication – 7 February or 8 February 2026. Technical 1 – 14 February or 15 February 2026. RYA Powerboat & Sailing Assessment – one day between 16 & 27 February 2026. Sea Survival, First Aid & Marine Radio – 7 & 8 March or 13 & 14 March 2026.
