From the Editorial Division of **Grupo Planeta**, we are looking to hire **an Editorial Technician** to join the **Editorial Península** team. Our list includes politicians, activists, essayists, journalists, and science communicators, and we consistently follow international trends and reference authors: Johann Hari, Cal Newport, Pedro Sánchez, Marc Marginedas, Manuela Carmena, Xavier Aldekoa, Mikel Ayestarán, Tim Marshall, among many others. **What will your day-to-day responsibilities be?** * Technical coordination of the editorial process (liaising with proofreaders and translators; interacting with production, design, and marketing/communications departments). * Reviewing briefs for design, marketing, and communications. * Reviewing and verifying texts for the commercial catalog. * Assisting in drafting design specifications. * Managing manuscripts, reading reports, and readers. * Monitoring schedules and maintaining the SGE system (specifications and planning). * Supporting the editor in tracking trends and talent across academic, journalistic, science communication, cultural, scientific, and literary fields. * Attending editorial meetings and proposing new projects. * Attending events, book launches, Sant Jordi celebrations, and the Madrid Book Fair. * University degree, preferably in Philology, Journalism, Literary Studies, Political Science, and/or Humanities. * Postgraduate studies in publishing or editorial training (proofreading) are valued. * Prior experience as an editorial technician or proofreader—either in-house or freelance—is desirable. * Familiarity with current developments and trends in non-fiction. * Advanced English proficiency is essential; knowledge of additional languages is a plus. * Autonomy, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, emotional intelligence, creativity, and curiosity. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Capacity to collaborate effectively in teams and delegate tasks.
