**Join our Cybersecurity and Quantum Communications team!**
As part of our positioning as a leading company in Defense and Security, we are seeking a **QKD \& QKDN Network Engineer**, to contribute to the **QKD GEO GARBO** project by participating in the design, implementation, and validation of **experimental QKDN networks** and advanced quantum encryption systems.
What will you do?
* Participate in the **design and implementation of QKDN networks**, aligned with **ITU and ETSI standards**.
* Work with various **QKD network components**, such as:
+ QKD Controller
+ Network Manager
+ Network Agents
* Deploy and integrate components into **experimental networks**, verifying compliance with project **functional requirements and KPIs**.
* Collaborate in the **definition and execution of basic tests** for QKD systems and networks.
* Analyze the operation of cryptographic and network management mechanisms.
* Collaborate with **cybersecurity and communications teams** in multidisciplinary environments.
* Participate in integration, validation, and technical documentation tasks.
* Contribute to the evolution of solutions developed in quantum communications projects.
What are we looking for in you?
You don’t need to meet 100% of the requirements. We want to get to know you and understand what you can bring.
✅ **1–2 years’ experience** in **QKD and/or QKDN networks**.
✅ Knowledge of **QKDN networks compliant with ITU/ETSI standards**.
✅ Experience or familiarity with **QKD network control and management components**.
✅ Knowledge of **symmetric and asymmetric cryptography**.
✅ Basic experience in **network management** and **Linux environments**.
✅ Knowledge of **C and C\+\+** (intermediate level).
✅ Interest in **quantum communications and advanced cybersecurity technologies**.
Valued Technical Skills
* Basic design of **test cases and test plans**.
* Test and validation strategies for equipment and systems.
* Implementation of test solutions in experimental environments.
* Knowledge or familiarity with **Teraflow** (desirable).
Functional Knowledge
* **Encryption and encryption tools** within the cybersecurity domain.
✅ Analytical ability and continuous learning capacity.
✅ Strong teamwork and technical communication skills.
✅ Availability to work in **Alcobendas**, under a **hybrid model (60% remote work annually)**.
The Project
You will join the **QKD GEO GARBO** project, a strategic initiative aimed at developing and validating **Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) solutions** and **QKDN networks**, with direct application in Defense and Cybersecurity environments.
The project is carried out on **experimental infrastructures**, focusing on interoperability, standards compliance, and performance evaluation.
