Responsibilities and tasks * Supports the Management in developing and implementing the fundraising strategy across all institutional areas. * Continuously monitors calls for proposals, funding announcements, and financing opportunities (foundations, public/private entities, national and international levels) and ensures effective communication with internal stakeholders. * Actively acquires new funding from existing and new entities, in line with the strategy defined by Management, and ensures effective engagement of relevant internal parties. * Develops tools, materials, and presentations to support fundraising activities (project fact sheets, letters of intent, targeted promotional materials). * Supports the full donation lifecycle—from donor identification through post-donation relationship management. * Defines performance indicators (KPIs) and prepares periodic reports for Management and the Board, ensuring ongoing monitoring and evaluation of activities. * Promotes a fundraising culture within the institution, including through targeted training initiatives. * Ensures regulatory and ethical compliance of fundraising activities, in accordance with institutional guidelines and applicable laws. * Establishes and coordinates an interdisciplinary working group to ensure coherence, synergies, and operational quality in fundraising activities. * Participates in sectoral networks and associations, representing SUPSI and fostering exchange of best practices and professional development. Requirements * University degree in economics, political science, communication, or related disciplines. * Specific experience in fundraising is considered a preferred qualification. * An established network of potential donors and/or relevant organizations. * Proven experience in fundraising, preferably within academic, cultural, nonprofit, or sponsorship contexts. * In-depth knowledge of the Swiss and international philanthropic landscape (foundations, grant-making bodies, corporations, patrons). * Ability to draft project proposals and grant applications with attention to narrative, strategic, and financial aspects. * Knowledge of tax and legal regulations governing donations (e.g., Zewo, LRD). * Familiarity with digital tools for communication and promotion (e.g., newsletters, social media, crowdfunding). * Proficiency with standard office software and database management systems. * Excellent command of both written and spoken Italian and German; knowledge of French and/or English is considered an asset. * Aptitude for networking, building trust-based relationships, and long-term stewardship. * Results-oriented mindset, autonomy, initiative, and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. * Systemic perspective and organized approach to project management. * Willingness to attend evening events or off-site engagements.
