Mechanical Maintenance Manager

ArcelorMittal is seeking to hire a Mechanical Maintenance Manager for its industrial facilities in Asturias. The selected candidate will join the mechanical maintenance department, contributing to ensuring the safety, availability, and reliability of industrial equipment and facilities. We are looking for a profile with solid experience in industrial maintenance and leadership capability—able to coordinate teams, drive continuous improvement, and manage maintenance resources and activities efficiently within a continuous-process environment. **Key Responsibilities** **Health, Safety and Environment** * Actively promote the Zero-Accident culture and ensure compliance with safety standards. * Identify risks associated with maintenance activities and ensure implementation of preventive measures. * Ensure compliance with safety regulations by internal staff, contractors, and suppliers. **Leadership and Team Management** * Lead, organize, and develop the mechanical maintenance team under their responsibility. * Set priorities, monitor activities, and ensure achievement of departmental objectives. * Identify training needs and promote technical and professional development of the team. * Serve as a technical and coordination reference within the organization. **Maintenance Management** * Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities. * Ensure proper execution of scheduled work and rapid recovery from incidents. * Participate in failure analysis, root cause identification, and implementation of corrective actions. * Drive improvements in equipment and facility availability, reliability, and performance. **Resource and Contractor Management** * Optimize assigned human, technical, and material resources. * Coordinate activities carried out by partner companies and contractors, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to deadlines. * Collaborate on cost management, spare parts, tools, and budgetary requirements of the department. **Continuous Improvement** * Promote improvements in procedures, work methods, and maintenance standards. * Monitor key maintenance indicators (availability, reliability, plan compliance, costs). * Actively participate in initiatives for operational efficiency and excellence. **Requirements** **Education** * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent qualification. * Master’s degree in Occupational Risk Prevention. **Experience** * Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in continuous-process facilities. * Prior experience in coordinating, supervising, or leading maintenance teams. * Experience managing contractors and resolving complex technical incidents. **Technical Knowledge** * Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. * Heavy industrial mechanical equipment. * Hydraulics, pneumatics, and failure analysis. * Reliability techniques and continuous improvement. * Knowledge of SAP PM, ARMP, or equivalent maintenance management systems. **Languages** * English at B2 level or equivalent in technical environments. **At ArcelorMittal, we believe in Zero.** We believe in the goal of zero accidents, and all company employees work toward achieving it. *ArcelorMittal is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
